Yeah there was a 5.2 sec jump from top of Test Day to top of Hyperpole last year.
Alpine are 40 hp down on last year's LM spec and they've got less energy (sorry - can't find exact amount in MJ) they can use across a stint. So stands to reason they are a bit slower with no development. Albeit I'm sure they are soft pedalling a bit. |

The hydrogen combustion engine is something I hope goes forward with Toyota pushing it.

... and now, that the last LMP1 has been consigned to the dust bin, the teams and manufacturers can, and have, moved on to LMH/LMDh.
If you think about it, Oreca, Multimatic, and Leiger are now in the same situation as Dallara, Dome, Courage and other chassis manufacturers were in the late 90's/ early 2000's. Being in the main class with major auto manufacturers supplying the engines. The only difference is the inclusion of Hybrid power as a standard unit, rather than an additional price point. |

Good choice. The M8 GTE engine was too big to use, and the previous DTM engine was not easily able to be adapted for use in LMDh. So, they chose an earlier version of the DTM engine and went for forced induction to make more power. And, it fits the engine bay in the chassis. Not bad.
Looking forward to the testing runs, should provide some good results. |

I couldn't think of a reason but that makes sense. Was the ACO ever invited to a Peugeot test to collect data on this car? |

I like the way Hypercar power has crept up from the original 670hp to 715hp for the Glickenhaus. That's a decent gap to the 540hp of LMP2.

Mission H24
ACO Unveils New Hydrogen Concept
"The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has unveiled a new electric-hydrogen prototype concept car as part of its Mission H24 project, set to take to the track in January 2025. The as yet unnamed car is the third to be built as part of the ACO’s ongoing push to incorporate hydrogen technology at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with plans to introduce an all-hydrogen class beginning in 2026." Was browsing through this thread to see if it made sense to post the Mission H24 link and saw this post. Realized that the News on Toyota's H24 concept wasn't dropped here so..... Quote:

Well, considering that LMDh started racing this year, LMH has a 2year head start when it comes to in-season upgrades on their chassis.

And LMDh had two extra years development without using any jokers. Which sounds better. Probably just swings and roundabouts.
Compared to those that were already homologated from the start, obviously. |

Looks like the hydrogen class is pushed back until 2027 at the earliest.
