A selection of images from the Glen here - https://www.flickr.com/photos/dwh38/albums/
First visit - great circuit. NASCAR fences a little intrusive but still plenty of places for shots. |

Merriman out and Wiltshire in at Era. Wiltshire ain't a slouch, runs the WTR ARX DPi in HSR and Peugeot 90X in Europe.

Streaming stuff on YouTube works - who'd have thought it!!??
https://www.dailysportscar.com/2024/...m2AkU-LIqCg47Q Have to applaud IMSA for making the smart, if not obvious decision. Usability is far beyond IMSA TV's and allows you to watch back at any time. If you miss the first hour, no stress. Instant and on demand. If only WEC would follow... |

Not to defend the ACO, but their focus is different to IMSA's: IMSA wants fans to be viewers first, ACO wants fans to be customers first.
The pay-to-watch service is here to stay, in the ACO's view uploading replays a few weeks after is sufficient to cover all bases. But yes, IMSA deserves as much praise as possible for following SRO (who it seems are always first...) and lie streaming on YouTube. |

WEC could do like Supercars and put their streaming on YT behind a paywall. Checks both boxes instead of relying on their current site. Meanwhile hope this CTMP race finds a rhythm in the 2nd half. Lots of yellow so far.

Fairly enjoyable race, mostly had the audio going while painting some free furniture for the wife's new bakery but seemed like decent racing and the up and coming pros in the P2s seemed to have the measure of the hired guns from GTP

WEC is global and under a paywall everywhere. Also why post replays the next day? - less people would pay for the stream if race was available in full 24 hours later SRO I think has the best coverage but they had years to perfect it. But lets be honest would anyone pay money to watch SRO racing? - maybe just for like 24 hours of SPA and nurburing now that it is under the SRO banner. Majority of us would probably wait for the replays to have it in the background |

However, I do think the hindsight view of SRO is complicated by their forward thinking. It does seem unlikely that people would pay for SRO streams now, but that's chiefly because they have been the most proactive when it comes to stream availability. If SRO followed ACO (who paywalled WEC very early) I think they would have had a fair amount of success. Quote:

Interesting one. Shame to see that partnership split up when it was going well. |

Estre, Christensen or any other of factory hypercar drivers? No date clashes left so shouldn't be a problem.
Still makes me wonder how this happened in the first place. Priaulx is Multimatic-contracted but Porsche and Multimatic are closely cooperating both on GT and Hypercar. And AO Racing is the only representation that Porsche has in the GTD Pro so I thought they should be treated like a factory team at least in terms of driver allocations if they need it. Guess not. |

They are involved in multiple projects I think, are they in any way involved with Aston? I don't know, we know they build the 963 chassis, because of Dad who drove for the Ford GT team, maybe going there, not sure if Multimatic have any input into the Mustang program.

Multimatic build and support the Mustang GT3. IMO the oddity there is that Roush/Yates Engines doesn't build the engines for that program. M-Sport (who do Ford's WRC stuff) build the Mustang GT3's engine. Roush/Yates built the engines for the Ford DP cars (both 5.0 V8 and 3.5 TT V6) and the Ford GT GTE/GTLM cars and the Ford GT track day cars.
