I think it's a beautiful race car. And what a sound. Can't wait to be at LeMans next year once more. And I especially look forward to hearing Hindy say "Christensen leads Le Mans". It has a familiar sound, doesn't it?

Yep, if it happens..... There are a lot of people taking a lot for granted. You'd think that Porsche really only have to turn up to win.....

So, it looks like the end of this year will be when we see these new cars turn some laps in anger.
PLM and Bahrain, make plans and get your tickets. |

You won't see it on track at Petit, possibly in the paddock but on track nope. They'll run WEC over IMSA and they'll have to pick one due to timing

JOTA to run a Hertz / Singer backed car or two in WEC
I suppose that might be the reason for the sudden disappearance of the JOTA factory backed McLaren in GTWC |

£2.4m Per Car for a Porsche 963, presumably minus spares & running costs.

Maybe it'll be black & gold, like the mustang gt "rent-a-racer" of the 60's.

The message from Porsche feels notably different from the other manufacturers.
'“As long as the customer is running, our service is always included,” says Holzmeyer, who notes he sees four or five 963s each in IMSA and WEC as the sweet spot. “We’ll have spare parts on site, we will have an engineering truck on site with five, six, seven engineers. We will figure out with the teams what they think is needed. The service is always there, and it’s always done for free. That’s the way Porsche approaches it because it’s the way we can guarantee the highest level of quality.”' https://racer.com/2022/06/25/there-w...-gtp-customer/ |

If Porsche set the bar then others will have to react. I guess there are parallels with GT3 where you see teams flocking to where they get the best technical support and customer relationships.
I also think you'll see teams react in other ways. I can't see Toyota/Ferrari etc not increasing their car count if it becomes a 2 vs 5 situation. |

I think the stripes are clever in that livery. They hark back to 1970 but it just looks 'different' to the black/red/white that we've seen in recent years which became increasingly dull. Of course, I'd have preferred yellow, or orange, or turquoise or green, but hopefully we will have something very different to look forward to with the Jota entries.

It’s nice to see Jota getting a customer Porsche, they certainly deserve it after all they’ve done for Sportscars over the years. Nice hark back to the 80s when Porsche would supply cars to team like Joest and GTI Engineering

I'm slightly surprised - pleasantly so - to see Lotterer brought back from the lower midfield of FE. A penny for Neel Jani's thoughts though? The line-up overall is the best of any top class so far; all the right names have been rewarded with a drive.
Good to see JDC & JOTA getting in there early with customer cars. The other teams need to move fast if they're not close to reaching deals with other factories. |

Is Jani still a Porsche driver? Maybe he could be placed at Jota. Da Costa and Stevens must be eyeing those seats if they aren't signed already.

It doesn't seem like he is anymore in an official capacity. It would appear to have fizzled out. There doesn't appear to be the usual list anywhere online of all the official factory pilots.
This was a good piece from DSC - https://www.dailysportscar.com/2022/...2022-race.html Despite all that I think he'd be a great shout for an LMDh, especially for a privateer team like a JOTA or JDC. |

Very odd. Surely he will turn up somewhere. Lamborghini/Ligier should grab him for development work and a race seat.

Have CGR announced their 2023 driver lineups yet? Jani replaced Magnussen at Sebring, and won, so may find a berth with CGR, even if it's just for the enduros.
