Anybody know if "Lego Star Wars" was a personal sponsor of Tom Chilton , does he still carry that sponsorship ?

I don't think so, I didn't see any stickers on the Works Astra last year.

Yes but wasnt Chilton being paid to drive for Vauxhall last year? Normally drivers at factory teams dont have to bring personal sponsorship as far as I am aware.

I think I've already said this within this thread, but Zulltec did not submit an entry. They simply don't have the funding to race in any series at this point. They hope to race at LM this year, but without having raced anywhere in advance, I'm not sure on what basis the selection committee would choose them, other than being French.

Sebastian Loeb Hinted on DSC that a Pesca may run on Diesel at LM. Henri squashed that notion and said they were using the Judd engine. Does anybody think that Loeb may have said something he shouldn't and Henri is covering it up?

Maybe Henri would run the Judd Diesel that has be rumored to being developed. His response on DSC never states that both cars will use Petrol.

No, but he does say that neither will be diesel! “For sure we won’t have a diesel-powered car. Both of our cars will be Judd-powered.” How much clearer can he be?

I guess I'm confused on the Swiss Spirit / Saulnier entries. Are those listed as "Saulnier Racing" entries from the company that Serge Saulnier sold when he joined Peugeot? If so, who's running Swiss Spirit? Who owns the name?

Yes, Swiss Spirit and Saulnier are two separate entities- the Saulnier team is now owned by Jacques Nicolet, according to Autosport.

The 'new' Swiss Sprit entry is run by ROC- the ownership of the name presumably must belong to either the sponsors or Fassler, bearing in mind that Saulnier and Primat are no longer involved

I wonder if it could be bio-fuel? Given Pesca's issue of the diesels, he would be best placed to prize some concession this year on bio-fuel.

Loeb cannot have made such a big error.

And indeed he did not!! The translator did. In the French version of the same text he says "there will be 3 Audis, 2 Peugeots and the other Pesca that will be quicker than us" Not even the word Diesel is mentioned. Maybe the only diesel in the neighborhood was the one the translator was drinking...

That makes perfect sense! I could not figure out why Loeb would say Pesca would run on Diesel if it was not true.

Thanks!

So, who will actually partner Jan Charouz in his father's Lola for the LMS? Jarek Janis appears, of course, to be out of contention because of his Spyker seat (while not confirmed, DSC suggests that he is definitely out of the Lola anyways in their Scuderia Ecosse news item). Furthermore, that news item points out that Enge, with his commitment to Scuderia Ecosse in FIA-GT when he is not driving for PW-L in the ALMS, will also not be in the Charouz Lola in the LMS this year. This could definitely hurt the chances of the Charouz entry, which on paper looked initially like a very competitive package.

Strange things going on in the Charouz camp . Original story sounded like everything was in place with no denials from Enge or Janis .

Maybe its been put on the back burner until next year , like the Courage onion bajhi project .

Shame if that was so , i was looking forward to seeing a Judd powered B07/10 !!!

DSC are reporting that Creation have been testing the updated hybrid (LMP1 wheels and tyres) at Barcelona. JCW has done most of the driving, but Thomas Serwin is also there (and presumably back in the frame for a 2007 drive) racking up the miles.

Aesthetically I think this is a shame. The three spoked wheels were one of the stand-out bits of detail on the Creation. Still, all in the name of progress eh?
