When the colour schemes are identical it is only the numbers to differentiate the cars from each other! I know that it makes it easier on spare bodyparts, but, having the ability to easily identify the cars from each other is essential from the trackside fans, home spectators and commentators. |

The tail fins and wing mirrors are different colours but that doesn't really help differentiate between the cars, when viewed head on. Each car should also have a Sunstrip/windscreen strip the same colour as the fin, that would help and change the colour on top of the front wheel arches so they match as well.

So it is basically just the same livery but filled in with color?
Perhaps not an all time great but better than the red and white I'd say |

Ugly. Plain and simple. Their customers are showing the factory how it can be done, so what's up with Porsche's design team?

I get the general feeling leading to this response, but no. Probably helpful to not try to read into it too much or insert a story that doesn't exist.

They did such a good job with the heritage liveries on the 911s a few years ago. This feels like laziness masked as trying too hard. |

Does this have something to do with the factories not wanting/or getting? sponsorship? As most of the classics had some external sponsorship. |

Imagine if they had taken the color rainbow of famous liveries and turned it into the sweeps of the 'Hippie Car' on a Silver background?
What they have is s bad emulation of BMW's amazing graphics on another base. |

It's the total (pun intended) opposite of what Peugeot is doing for LM.

Hopefully they’ll pull out of the race. Preferably before the test weekend.

To some , that is it. But to me, it is unconscious actions, doing something without any effort that explains itself. Even the individually colored on white 908LH of the late 60's would've been a better choice than this. Have a true tie to the past, not this half-a$$ed effort.

Cataclysmic last stint by Makowiecki to lose the podium in the end. 1 or 2" per lap slower than his previous stint all along. It seems they changed tyres during the last stop and should have not been short on fuel. Did they short fill a bit too much ?

I actually quite like it. At least its better than another red-white-and-black livery or yet another tired reshash of something from the 80s or 90s.

It's certainly an interesting livery and makes it stand out. But there's nothing wrong with going with retro colours, after all it's what people recognise of the brand

Yeah the Penske Porsche livery is horrific and a crime. A 963 in the livery of the 2017 Porsche LMP1/911 RSR would look good. That is my favorite factory livery. Too bad Porsche did not stick to it. Toyota and Ferrari don't change their looks. Even BMW liveries are consistent with the white and blue on the GTP cars now. Same as the M8 GTE when it was in WEC.

The livery isn't awful, at least it's colourful. However, it does come across like a confused pensioner trying to support their gender-fluid grandchild. Just stick all the colours (liveries) in there, at least one of them will be appropriate.

It's funny. We moan about dull boring red white and black. Manufacturers then come up with something different and colourful and we moan about not having dull and boring 'consistent' liveries and want to stick to the looks we've been bored by for years on end. There's no pleasing us, is there......?

Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
To be fair, we have seen two great 963 liveries, one on-track and one to come, neither of which are from Porsche themselves. There will always be an element of corporatism in manufacturer liveries, and this has only increased in the last two decades. I think that's the crux of fans' disapproval. |

It's always good to look back. I think the Porsche livery is fine, certainly they like to be experimental. They've never necessarily had a definitive livery, although that's mainly due to sponsors. Besides I feel Porsche have never put out a bad livery, at least from what I can remember.
