All drivers will see the season out.
Surely Sainz gets the RBR Seat |

Sainz to Red Bull would be a no brainer and if that was Ric's intended destination there would be no need to keep him in the RB seat any longer. Wrt your last point Liam did do a season in Aus F4 so I guess that's all it takes to legitimise the claim |

I am surprised that the doting dad, hasn't blamed Horny Horner for his boy failing to finish yesterday!

Sainz more likely to go to Audi as his father already drives for them and he would pull a few strings. One poor season then sure we will see something we are more used to now.

A question about Max’ brake failure or brake being stuck as they are saying…
Can’t say I can recall a failure like that before, so is it something related to the part itself or caused by a set up error? And if it was a setup issue, why was it not noticed during quali or in the pre race recon laps…was something changed on the grid? Or if it was part or software related, then they didn’t seem too concerned about it affecting their other car? |

I'd be surprised that the team didn't have advance warning there was a problem (maybe they did?). They have sensors all over the place, but I imagine the thinking was "wind the brake balance forward a bit and see if that helps".

Verstappen complained about his brakes early on in FP3.

so sounds like a set up issue then? given that side of the garage's run of form, very uncharacteristic of them! Quote:
even though it all happened very quickly, one would think, as you suggest, lots of sensors must have been going off. |

It seems amazing that Red Bull have an under-performing driver in each of their teams. Maybe not quite so amazing in the main team as that is really Team Max and the second driver is only there to make Max look good. I really don't understand why they put Danny Ric in the Toro Rosso: he has been fading for at least the past couple of seasons. The sooner he gets moved aside for Liam Lawson, the better.
I can't see Carlos Sainz going to Red Bull when Checo finally gets the boot. It's a poisoned chalice. I expect to see him in a Mercedes next year where he will at least be a genuine Joint No 1. |

Said it from Day 1, Cant see DR getting the flick for Lawson anytime in 2024.
2025 might be a different circumstance. DR offers alot more to teams than just a driver. Theres plenty of drivers out there right now running around with less GP wins than him, however as we know contracts seem irrelivent. Interesting read https://speedcafe.com/rb-boss-reveal...than-a-driver/ |

That being said, currently he isn't offering any points, which is all that matters as a driver. |

I think summer break is more likely if at all.
The only way this really gets accelerated is if Horner ends up leaving, which admittedly is looking less and less likely. I believe Horner is the biggest reason that 1) DR is back at RB in the first place and 2) will last longer than the previous underperforming Alpha Toro Cash App drivers historically have. |

As an Aussie I want to see Dan do well, but I sometimes feel hes using F1 to build up "Brand Dan" media personality etc, to give him a post f1 presence. Too much joking and media stunts and maybe a bit more concentration on the core task needed. Time to sh-t or get off the can!
If VCarb (or whatever they are called today) are the "young talent time team" (aussies will get that) then DR isnt a great fit, either. If they are keeping him for experienced, development etc, surely he could do that in 3rd seat, simulator, P1 sessions, and coaching etc from the pit lane. In reality Danny had a few great years at RedB when Max was just finding his way, since then he has just had excuses for the last 4 or 5 years. I like to see new exciting talented drivers given their chance, not old reliable mid-fielders trundling around trying to get a couple of points with luck. And there are far too many of them right now, and far too many great drivers from f2 and other places who cant break in. I think Liam proved that he has the goods to deserve at least a few races. DR should stand aside for LL and let a youngster have a crack. Last edited by bathurst77; 29 Mar 2024 at 00:21. |

If Max brake problem was the result of a mistake by a mechanic or setup, is this a sign that the C.H scandal and resulting infighting is starting to have effects with the efficiency and prowess of the team/company as a whole?
Are important people getting distracted from their main tasks and things starting to slip through cracks? When things arent right on the bridge and the captain of the ship isnt "completely on task" icebergs can be hit. |

Also agree that maybe time for Danny to do that development and set up role as a reserve / development / simulator driver. |

I agree too that maybe Danny Ric should maybe focus more on using his experience to benefit the team and help develop the car. Will be easier for everyone involved

Didn't Marko say Lawson was pretty much promised a drive in '25 anyway?
