More positive news for Team Willy, I hope this will all help a much needed improvement in form.

Well surprised that they are keeping sponsors with the horrid results they are having, but i still hope they will turn things around

https://rokitphones.com/us/partners/ It shows F1 in the context of "innovation" and how Rokit is part of that. I can imagine many will see that (and similar marketing material) and think... "I have heard of F1. That is some high tech stuff right there!" Then there is a subset of those folks who see that (or actually watch F1) and think... "Poor Williams. They are having a rough time right now." Overall, it's less about being with a winning team as it is the image of being part of F1. Sure, being part of a winning team would be great, but few can afford to be a title sponsor for Mercedes or a Ferrari! And... I expect the Williams title sponsorship is currently a good deal for Rokit as how can Williams be asking for premium money given their situation. Plus someone is a good salesman at Williams right now! Richard |

As long as they have things in place to continue in F1, then that’s encouraging and there’s a chance they can improve in the future

I dont know if that is innovative or not but as our lives become more tied to our phones then maybe it is. Also like their other partners...Houston Rockets (great name association) and LA Chargers ( better name association for a mobile company lol). And yeah, Claire takes a lot of flack (some deserved) but she seems to have her father's flair for finding quality sponsors. Nice to be on the same page again Richard |

Good news for Williams and looks like Claire had done a great job to extend the relationship.
It's often a Catch 22 situation at the rear of the grid - without sponsor income its hard or impossible to move forward compared to the other teams but the level of sponsor income usually depends to some extent on team performance. To have an ongoing level of income gives the team an opportunity to plan and develop its way forward in a deliverable way, rather than lurching from year to year like a punch-drunk fighter, desperately trying to dig out of a hole and find the income to do so. Next item on the agenda has to be the operational path needed - I can't see it being a miracle turnaround but hopefully the team can improve from where it is - although I'm not holding my breath for 2019. |

The way that Sauber bounced back shows what can be done. Will we see something similar in Grove?

Hands up all those that thought Kubica was the second coming who was going to save F1 & then Williams all in the same season. He should have rested on his laurels, now he has committed career suicide which saddens me.

Seems very practical to me. Focus on the car. No need to create drama and extra work by switching up drivers mid-season. And likely the end result of a driver swap would not be significantly different than now. In that they would still be fighting for positions at the rear.

At best a driver swap would mean that the Williams finish 19th and 20th instead of 20th and 19th.

To me Kubica was a calculated risk with not much to lose. Now if only the Williams car was as good as it's pitstops...

Claire Williams: "aren't you fed up with winning? Why not drive for us and see what you can do?" A bit defeatist but just some banter.

Those laps of Silverstone with Lewis were special - no forced smiles from Frank, show how much he simply adores the game still.
Hope he has reasons to smile driven by team performance sometime soon, I really do. |

Nice to see Frank enjoying himself. And he would have enjoyed the fact both cars finished in front of the Ferrari of Vettel

I wonder how long Williams will be able to hold on to Russell for now?

Longer or shorter than they keep Kubica. Although he has scord the point.
Overall this was fun to see in Q3. The topic of Q3 is always around 15/16th! However, lets not get giddy. We need step 2 to follow step 1. |
