IMO It's still strange why Janis joined Spyker instead of Charouz.

Maybe, but with almost half a dozen of test drivers and small test programme there's little chance to get in their single seaters. If he's wanting a single seater career why isn't he in WSR, GP2 or A1GP?

In not sure about the drivers personal sponsors meaning who they are ? Maybe Ebbro . Just sounds well financed to me . About Janis not taking the Charouz drive ..... I suspect that Spyker offered him a test in "another" type of race car !!! You cant blame him for doing that but , I would have prefered to see Janis-Enge in that Lola , cuz i reckon its going to kick a lot of arse over the season , and with its currant driver line up !!! Rock on ..... my darkhorse for the championship . |

I don't find this new driver line up so special. Mucke has to prove what he can do in a prototype and Young showed before how he can go off the track

i think that the reason enge and janis are not racing for charouz this year is that charouz own the rights to them so its better for them to race for other teams and get paid for it. rather than have them race there car for nothing. its all down to money/sponorship nowdays although i think enge would have done a brilliant job driving the lola i think another driver that would have been a good choice for charouz would have been haruki kurasa he has load of lmp1 xperience with jota and the courage last year very quick driver

Neither had ollie Gavin , before he got a Corvette drive !!!
Yoong can be quick , prone to the odd mistake , and Mücke is not a slouch either . Lets give the guys a chance ? I can name a lot of drivers who are in LMP2 or LMP1 who are not that good as well . Yoong is the man , not Young ..... Taken from the paddock.net Yoong previously drove for Racing for Holland in the 2006 Le Mans Series and has recently been driving in the A1GP for team Malaysia with two wins to his credit. A former Formula One driver, Yoong has also driven in Champ Cars and Australian V8 Supercars. "Stefan and Alex will be a great asset for us,” said team owner Antonin Charouz. “They are experienced and fast. Alex will bring two British engineers from Malaysian A1 Grand Prix team." Both drivers will also bring their sponsors to the Czech team to strengthen its budget. Last edited by The Badger; 5 Mar 2007 at 14:55. |

Indeed Badger Yoong is a very quick driver in his own right as he has shown in A1 GP. Yes he isnt the best there is but he is one of the better drivers out there, maybe just beneath Tomas Enge level I would suggest. As for Mucke, well I dont really know much about him in terms of results but I have heard his name mentioned on a few ocassions and not in a bad way.

With Audi saying that their 3rd entry is not for sure . I hope they dont leave it too long to confirm it , so the next reserve has time to get his crap together .
Any word on possible pull outs ? I still reckon that 3 Zyteks is asking a bit much , considering that we havent seen 1 running yet , and possibily the Dome-Mader might not be ready on time too . |

Hmm interesting Oreca livery, I definately prefer the 2006 one myself. Still, as long as it goes as quick as it did last year.

I like the Saleen scheme, the Porsche looks a little bland in white though,

got to say i prefer the livery from last year on the oreca saleen and the IMSA porsche, the new oreca paintjob reminds me for some reason of the nissan R391 paintjob at lemans in 1999 not sure why just has the look that car had.
the IMSA car is pretty nice but i much preferred last years paint scheme, very attractive paintscheme imo |
