Norris is usually the one making mistakes recently. This session was the one where he didn't.

Well played Lando. Looked very iffy whether he'd even make it out of Q1 and Q2 at times! He picked it up from the end of Q2. Tsunoda and Lawson - amazing, good to see them up there. Also looking forward to seeing Verstappen working his way through the field (though not too far please Max, I want another title decider in Abu Dhabi).

Above all, hoping for a full-distance and accident-free race this afternoon. Some of those offs in Quali were quite nasty, don't want any more of that please!

Whilst I don’t like seeing big crashes, it was a mega qualifying and really asked the best drivers in the world to show up. Some of those crashes seemed so tough on the driver - Alonsos in particular where you can imagine something like 5% less throttle would have been fine.
Albon’s rear seemed to drift only the kerb at the turn in for turn 1 and I suspect that unsettled the car - although I note he thought it was a brake error. Whilst this could perhaps be considered unlucky, you can’t help thinking that Williams had so much to gain from a good top ten start and a real chance of a good points finish, that to write the car off in this fashion could be criticised. Hindsight is easy I know. Do we think that being shaded by Colopinto in the last few races could have affected his strategic thinking here (ie just a bit desperate to do that bit better?).

Seems like a very exciting session from what I saw. Few spills though. Yet another bad weekend for Williams, I worry for their future. Really Albon might be wishing he left the way things are atm

I just watched the highlights and that was "interesting" to say the least. I like it when it rains, as some drivers get to shine in the wet that usually don't gets much spotlight. Very sorry to hear Albon has to bow out of the race.



I am for some reason not very surprised Russel was up there. A very thoughtful racer, so he should do well in the wet. He has proved it before as well that he knows how to handle a wet track.

I imagine so. "I was following another car" isn't a good defense.

I would also imagine that the drivers who left last (Saubers, Max and someone else) were eventually told to go by the Race Director to try and un-f the situation that was unfolding.
