Reasonable choice.

In fact, Armstrong had targeted IndyCar for months.

Let's see if Chip hires Sato or RHR for the ovals.

Ah, thanks. I'd forgotten about that Pruett silly season update article, and hadn't seen the other one. Armstrong certainly seems to have had good success in F4/F3/F2.

I'd think maybe Sato over RHR but who knows what Chip will do? Sato would presumably bring Honda money, whereas RHR always ran DHL which went with the car, not the driver. I guess there might be various other candidates, too.

DHL remained in Andretti and sponsored Grosjean this year.

Maybe soon Gaston Mazzaacane will no longer be the most recent Argentinean to run at indy?

Marshall Pruett called it. I greatly dislike his style of "I heard from a source that I can't reveal" storytelling, but he got this one right.

If he's right about the others (Sato to CGR for ovals, Sting Ray Robb to DCR), that's a 27-car field(!). Which will be a nightmare for Toronto's pit lane, but amazing.

Pruett was spot on, so we have a bumper 27 car field!

I wouldn't be surprised if IndyCar announces not to accept one-off entries outside the Indy 500.

They're smart enough to accept them as the track allows and deny if there's no room over a blanket no. Iowa can handle more than 27, Toronto maybe not.

The most entrants at Toronto in recent memory was 25 last year (2022), and it was TIGHT in pit lane. There were already concerns with that many (pit boxes too near pit in or out, and under the bridge). I doubt there's safe room for 27, but we'll see I guess. But over the whole series, more entrants = better IMHO.

1-2-3 for Arrow McLaren in the 2nd day.

What surprises me most is how tight the cars were on both days of running. Especially with the new guys. Nasr and Cassidy were really impressive, and some of the young guys in Indycar as well.

In McLaren related news, TK will run the 4th McLaren and then drive off in to retirement after the 500.

25 years and 390 CART/Indy starts, 318 in a row. Odd bit of trivia for you, first driver to complete every lap of a season, in 2004.
