How about the waiting room after the race where Vettel, Alonso, Webber took a breather. That was so awkward, particularly when Webber entered and just about completely ignored Vettel, to the point of standing in from of him with his back to him while talking to RB's main rival from the past few years.
Even the commentators had to talk about it. I noticed a few times Seb went to say something to Webber, but just got a short prompt reply back. Mark REALLY doesn't like Seb does he? lol. |

What I heard was a comment about Vettel and Webber shaking hands and how they had softened toward each other and buried the hatchet. I did note however that Fernando and Webber are friends but really Seb and Webber are not good friends. I also noted at the start that Seb moved significantly to his right in what appeared to be an effort to close him down so he couldn't take a lead from him (as happened at Silverstone a few years ago when they also had the front row and Webber came from grid 2 to take the lead and win...) |

Alonso and Vettel weren't really talking at all before Webber got there either, so Alonso/Vettel probably aren't too buddyish. I like these behind the scenes shots. Yeah that start was unnecessarily aggressive from Vettel. |

Also, Webber just shrugged when Alonso as much as apologized for his aggressive passing move. Imagine if Vettel had pulled that move on Webber. Would he have pulled back like he did with Alonso?
I think there is genuine animosity between the two, Vettel got to Webber in a bad way. |

You would think that it can happen here or there, but that is a clear indication of the state of things at RBR, when the team moved towards Vettel and made him the clear #1... it's an old story going over again, only different names.

I hardly think we can blame Webber. Part-jealousy, part-envy, part-whatever - it's life.

When someone does you wrong its an incident but if it cuts across a basic life principle that an individual holds it is much harder. There needs to be a sincere effort to repair the breach or the offended party simply files the person away in the 'do not touch or trust' basket and leaves them there. It has to be more than words, it requires actions that match the words and an acknowledgement of wrong doing. However the words Vettel has subsequently used indicate that that is unlikely here. And Webber is not to going to make any move to attempt to fix it. Maybe the Malaysia incident galvanised the decision to leave. 'I can't work with him at all anymore so I will go'. Prost/ Senna did get some healing but Pironi/Villenueve never did. Webber will go on but Vettel will not play any part in his working life any more. |
