They Sat night one is in the club house at the circuit, which is very similar to the one at the festival. Basically the main commentator interviews some of the main drivers (as well as up and comers) and talks about ff1600 etc, theres normally a big turn out and its worth going to. The Friday night one is as Ian said.....

Peter is more than capable of looking after his own car so expect to see it in the Dempsey awning.

Cranfield University and the National College for Motorsport are runing James Nash. Information on our entry can be found here http://www.cranfield.ac.uk/news/pres.../page26435.jsp

To all competitors and entrants we hope it is a great event and a big thanks to James Beckett for all his input into what is always a superb festival of FF1600 racing.

Bonsoir formula Ford Fans ,
I thought I would send a brief resume of proceedings at today's WHT test sessions as there appears to be a severe lack of info concerning the whole event (come back Ian Sowman and friends , all is forgiven !)
I didn't time anyone in the morning but I got most of the quick boys in the afternoon and according to my sundial these few were the quickest of the quick (give or take a 10th on the times as the ol' stopwatch finger was suffering from frostbite !!!!)

I Smythe 1.2.08
J.Fisher 1.2.09
G.Jones 1.3.00
G.Carroll 1.3.01
J.Newgarden 1.3.01
C.Daly 1.3.01

As far as I could see all the other main contenders were doing 1.3.01 - 1.3.05 and these included all the usual suspect such as N.Dunne , S.Gough , M.Vergers , F.Fisher , W.Herron , P.Dagg etc etc.
Matt Rivett looked to be well on the pace with mid to low 1.3's and I think Nathan Freke was going OK but never really got a definitive time for him.
Sorry if I have missed anyone out but you get the general idea of who was doing what , I reckon from 1st to 8th/10th in all the heats is gonna be pretty damn close with just a small minority being ultra quick and walking away with them , then again it might all change if it rains but somehow I don't think so !
No sign of a car with number 1 on it so I presume Mr P.Dempsey is a non starter ?
Hope this helps a bit
Nick .
P.S someone else is gonna have to provide the roving reports over the weekend .

He is Kevin Mill's venerable 92 swift.
I failed to mention on my previous news bulletin for those that are interested , the 1.03.5-1.04.0 brigade included N.Rowe , R.Farrell , E.Moore etc etc , I.m sure there are loads of others but that gives you the flavour.
Trevor McDonut , WHT news at 18.30 , signing out. Au Revoir.
P.S yet again . didnt't get a time on P.McKenna or A.Wallace , they looked to be on the pace and mixing it in the morning but didn't appear to do much running in the afternoon.

Thanks for the info Nick. Was wondering how testing was going.

While I don't expect him to challenge for the win, having never raced a FF, American Doug Prendeville should be fun to watch, as he's an aggressive but good driver with some coin in his pocket.

Cheers,

Al.
