I'm the crew chief now so the info is for my son William.
Whats your class? Superkart Chassis? 2002 Birel CR-32 Championship? Southwest Karters Road Racing Opinions? I'll have to ask him! He started at 11 years old with a Briggs Animal then a World Formula. Then a Biland at 14 before moving into a Honda 125. Started running the Honda 250 in 2008. Some pics of the first test I had with the kart I got, didn't have a suite and gloves yet cause DHL hasn't delivered them so far and it was way to hot to use them anyway

More Stuff
Here are some more pictures of our karting efforts. These are from the USKGP at Miller Motorsports Park near Salt Lake City Utah.

No Problem!
Actually, the front mounted is safer in some ways.
The hoses are away from the axle and brake rotor. The lower hose is not getting chain lube flung onto it. The drivers elbow is not constantly bumping the radiator. The front radiator takes a lot less "hits" from tire rubber. I've seen a lot of karts climb over a rear tire and take out the rad. I haven't seen a kart crash into another one and take out the drivers fairing. The water going to the radiator is only 45 to 55 degrees C. It's just not that hot. The set up is one of Epics Plenum deals. Very nice, vibration mounted, carbon fiber, well engineered. The only complaint from my son is that the clutch handle is warm after a race! Plus, It looks Cool! |

Since I have just recently joined, I thought I'd have some input and hopefully re-vitalise this thread!
I am 16 and (as of this year) racing Superkarts! I began at the arrive and drive junior championship at Castle Combe, just because I enjoyed karting on holiday, and did well and enjoyed it. Then my brother (who is 2 years older) moved on to Junior TKMs and when he moved to 250s I took his TKM (for half a season) and then when he moved to long circuits, I took his 250 (for half a season)! But for this year, we've bought a 1 year old kart for me to race in, so our short circuit 250 is for sale (as a rolling chassis). I raced the TKM and the 250 at Little Rissington mostly, occasionally when to Shenington and Dunkeswell. To be honest, I cannot see why more people dont race Superkarts as, although they are expensive, they're so inexpensive relative to the speed and enjoyment and competition you get! For example, round Snetterton, they are just a few seconds slower than F3 cars which cost £400,000 a year to race in! I just wish more people (especially my age) knew about the opportunities that the world of racing offers. A Silverstone test day is the first event for me, should be rather good fun I think on the GP track, especially against my brother! |

Sounds good Bendy, but whats Don Kennedy running next year then seen as you've bought his kart?
Great to see another young un on the long circuits. I started long circuit racing 3 year ago at Darley Moor (great club track too). |

Just saying hello to everyone. Had karts as a youth but never raced. Years later I am trying again with historic karts and also racing 210's. Having agreat time doing it as well.

The 210 challenge are still going strong and put out regular grids of 20+.
Racing is mainly based in the midlands area Shenington, Rissington, Fulbeck for short circuit but there is still a couple of long circuit rounds as well based around the superkart calender. The 210 website will keep you informed of the coming race season. The danner and dince is this weekend where I just managed to pinch first novice but the championship is now held by Graham Payne and the GP plate went to Lee Plain. |

Wow, this was actually quite embarrassing coming back to this part of the forums! My 12 year old self, just a few pages back, aspiring to Champcar..
I'm 18 now, at uni, been really thinking about buying something in the next year or so to do some club racing for fun. I'd never been quite as privileged as some of the wee kids you see running around the Larkhall paddock, but I've still always had my heart set on being a racing driver, I never really shone on the field in team sports either. Now that i'm at uni, and applying for jobs, as well as joining the Universities Motorsport Club, the prospect of doing motorsport has become quite a tangible prospect, and I've been somewhat inspired to look into the whole club Karting 'scene'. Are there many others who do club karting for fun rather than as a means to progressing the motorsport ladder? My local club would be at Larkhall (WSKC), and they run Formula Blue, Rotax Max and World Formula for seniors. I'm not too sure what class would suit someone like me. Any help here? |

Nicky - there was a guy up there called Kev offering a WF for free for a season as I recall, let me see if I can find the link. WF definately a good formula up there.
