WOW! great race...just wish it was longer... I don't think I've ever seen Paul Tracy emotional like that after a win. This is truly something special for him!
What a surprise to have RHR win! I wasn't too happy with his cockiness after the race acting like Darren Manning was nothing behind him...but that's nothing new from RHR. Still, great to see a new winner and potentially a new star in the series. In someways, I wondered if RHR staying ahead of Jimmy, and Darren getting passed Jimmy was symbolic of the changing of the guard - new getting passed old. |

Did the Australians out there spot Yalumba on Salo's sidepods? Yalumba is a large winemaker here in Australia.

Interesting. I guess with the Australian connection through Kalkhoven, who i believe is also a South Australian (where Yalumba is based) they've been able to secure a one-off sponsorship deal...

What a strange race. Fabulous result all round - congratulations to Ryan on his first win, Darren on a strong drive to second, to ASTJ for a superb 1-3, to Dale Coyne and Gualter Salles for staying out of trouble and getting a top-6 finish and finally to PT for finally claiming that championship he has been longing for the past 13 years.

Wow! I don't think anyone saw that coming. Spectacular show though, and I'm glad it was a short rain delay. I must say this completely screws up the CART pool for me though...

Weird race, tremendous results though. Salles in 6th, Reynard 1-2-3, Tracy winning the series, etc etc. Fantastic topsy-turvy results.

Congrats to Paul and Ryan. Great race, a lot of action. PT gets into two seperate incidents, then thinking he'd have to wait until Fontana for the championship, then Bruno wipes out. Anyone know exactly what happened to Bruno? Here in the states we got our usual SPEED Channel commentators, but the footage was coming from the Channel 10 guys. Only camera shot of Bruno's incident came in to late and we were able to see one of the sidepods torn off. Also RHR, bringing in some comic releif, crashes his car AFTER winning the raace!!! I was planning on going to bed during the rain delay (it was about 1:00AM here), but I'm glad I didn't, what a race.

good stuff, why Vasser got shown up is a mystery to me but good job RHR.
Bruno looked like he had the red mist. goood race and 3 reynards up top , the car still needs help but this hurts the cause. At least they made it past the race, it could have been extended to its real length though, tracy was on an absolute charge to get laps back. If Fontana hapens (fires and all) will it matter who wins? i will be there, cheering on Vasser. |

My heartfelt congratulations to Paul Tracy. He deserved it - and this title was long overdue.
I had called him a "complete bonehead" in the past, and I insisted he would never win a title - but sometimes it is good to be wrong. I am glad I was. Cheers to Ryan Hunter-Reay and ASTJ for their maiden win. I was quite pleased with the race - hopefully the Australian fans (that had to bear rain and hail) were too and will continue to show their amazing support to CART. I for one cannot wait until Fontana. |
