I fair to see much moaning there, he does have a point. But why don't all of the teams develop RWD if it's supposedly such a huge advantage then?

Last year I seem to recall that MG had a similiar meeting at oulton to BMW this year. Did the MG's get extra ballast as a result of that meeting?

Apart from that, nobody gets extra ballast in the btcc. West Surrey have just done more homework over the winter that's all. |

It happens everytime in every touring car championship running FWD or RWD , the teams with fwd have had all the cards until now in BTCC, and if the rwd technical regs hadnt changed in 2012 to better the rwd configuration we would have 3 less NGTC cars on the grid, no WSR and no Colin Turkington, The Audis of Rob Austin would be struggling and the FWD would be winning. There are no fair answers, why build a fast car to have it slowed down , the best TOCA can do is reduce the min weight of FWD but they cant because the cars are already heavy and teams would struggle to get the weight out, adding more weight to the Beemers can help to balance the car even more , and a longer first gear is simply unfair. This championship is in good health and its because allowances have been made to get it there, so many cars fall short of the min length we would only have half a grid. So it needs to be left in tact otherwise what is the draw if you cant build the best car . |

Its easy to tell the RWD teams have an unfair advantage, just look at all the championships they won the last couple of years! Oh wait, they didn't...

2014:
Post-Oulton Park: RWD poles: 1 RWD wins: 4 FWD poles: 3 FWD wins: 8 Pre-Oulton Park: RWD Poles: 0 RWD Wins: 2 (both from reversed grids) FWD Poles: 3 FWD Wins: 7 It's obvious Plato is being reactionary. Yes, the RWD cars had a great weekend at Oulton but that's just one circuit. They didn't take a win at Donington Park, and as you can see, Oulton Park was the first time since Rob Austin won Rockingham race 2 last year that they a RWD car has won without the reversed grid. He's obviously jealous of a) Turkington's talent b) WSR and/or c) Rob Austin's Rob Austin-ness. |

Appalling reaction. As soon as the RWD cars have a good weekend compared to the FWD cars, they complain. The next time a factory team wins in the BTCC, WSR should complain publicly that it's very unfair that they have more funding, etc etc. ---EDIT--- http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/114385 GOOD |

That's a very cynical view considering there was 1 clean overtake over the weekend in the BTCC races, and that was Rob Austin passing a confused and slowing Rob Collard.

Adam Morgan put in several clean overtakes into Lodge, as it has been mentioned before the lack of overtaking on the international layout would not be such a problem if they straight lined britten's. It would give a far better run down to Hislops. The island layout hardly triggered clean overtaking galore.

I hope Colin Turkington wins the championship. A class driver racing against a few rock-apes.

I think it could be his year. His approach is starting to remind me of 09, but more so.
Great day for Ireland with Aron Smith winning race 3. |

In terms of a talked about RWD advantage, the stats below make interesting reading. Of the 64 races held to date, Honda and MG have won 51. That's an almost 80% hit rate. MG alone have won almost twice that of BMW. Maybe Ian Harrison doesn't realize that 17 is bigger number than 9
NGTC MARQUE WINS IN BTCC as of June 2014 Honda (FWD) 34 MG (FWD) 17 BMW (RWD) 9 Audi (RWD) 1 Ford (FWD) 1 Toyota (FWD) 1 Volkswagen (FWD) 1 |
