This Kairos deal seemed to come through late - you wonder what their plans were in terms of sponsorship for the season if that deal fell through.

Yeah... what did I say about their Ukrainian background couple of days ago when they were boosting "LMP1 after three years time"? Okay maybe this is not entirely linked up to such black and white situation but sportscar backing coming from Eastern Europe hasn't exactly been without problems lately has it. SMP name change and the whole Millennium mess and whatnot, yeah more to do with Russian sanctions, but Team Ukraine (ELMS GT3) went away too and now this...

Almost 6 months seperate the end of last season and the beginning of this. And it's still too soon for 6 entries. Something isn't right there.

No Johannes van Overbeek at Silverstone this weekend, picked up a rib injury.
Edit - To be replaced by ... David Brabham. It's been a while. Last edited by J Jay; 8 Apr 2015 at 19:12. |

I'm not worried about Rebellion, they made a late engine switch, nothing else. I'm a bit more concerned about Nissan. Hopefully they're just behind schedule, and there are no fundamental flaws in the design. And the Morand situation doesn't look good at all. According to DSC, there are legal issues concerning the ownership of the team, and that could take a long time to sort out.

Well, since Kairos is a mysterious hedge fund (I'd better say a "pyramid") there's nothing strange that the team has disappeared from the entry list. Monsieur Morand had to seek partners more carefully - he just could have googled a bit about them. But still I'm really sorry for the team that pioneered hybrids in Le Mans.

Ahh what a mess. It's a shame as there's a lot of good talent within the team. Hopefully that's not crippled them but it sounds a pretty fundamental issue.

In February
WEC releases full season entry list of 35 cars ELMS releases full season entry list of 34 cars Few days before Silverstone WEC has grid of 29 cars ELMS has grid of 31 cars It's weird how things sometimes pan out upside down. |

Reference the radio question - has it been confirmed that they are on the usual 87.7 FM frequency at the circuit?
I've been at Silverstone for the BARC & BRSCC clubbies for the past couple of Sundays and Silverstone has been broadcasting on 1602 on Medium Wave. They were on FM last year for everything and it appears that all reference to Silverstone Radio has been removed from the web site. |

Can't say I was listening too intently to that part, but IIRC Hindhaugh does mention broadcasting over MW at Silverstone in the WEC Silverstone Preview.

Really not certain that shifting to MW is the best idea imaginable. I've got a radio that I can try and remember, but so many devices have gone down the FM route it seems like a huge missed opportunity.
Last year the WEC app was able to stream video reasonably reliably via 3G, maybe a silver lining to the paywall? |

Come to think of it, if that brought the joy back to reading race reports maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing? |

Hmm... Yesterday they had prices for the season streaming pack on the WEC website, now nothing. Is it back to being free?

Just had an email from the ACO telling me that the race is on and that the weather will be "great", also large selection of activities including a concert fro tne famous DJ "The aventer" never heard of him but then again probably not interested in the face painting either.

Just got this reply, on twitter, from SilverstoneUK about radios
"We only use AM 1602 at smaller events, events like WEC, F1 and MotoGP we'll broadcast on 87.7FM" |
