http://www.autohebdo.fr/endurance/le...-moteur-nissan mentions a new, more efficient rear wing. If they are not invited to Le Mans, they will do the LMS race in Paul Ricard or Spa.

What WR has been up to :)
Just found this on Ultimatecarpage:
http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/pic/5...enGT-H2_1.html When reading it, a name pop's up in all Sportscarfans "Gerald Welter". |

http://endurance-info.com/version2/a...nce-11129.html has some pictures of the GreenGT H2.
It has a very remarkable look. This must be a requirement to get the 56th garage entry |

It's far less sleek than the Deltawing. And who thought nicking the airbox off a Porsche 936 was a good idea? That said, if they can get it to run well enough, hopefully we'll see it in Garage 56 next year.

Er... is it now officially selected for the garage 56 2013?
Another question, is it fully electric? Why on earth does it have that ginormous airbox?! To suck wildlife including small deer out the trackside bushes? |

Hydrogen, fuel cell, so I suspect it's an airbox for fuel cell cooling (look at the picture from the rear three-quarter, it's all radiators there).

Sign it up ACO let's keep the batsh*t crazy cars coming! Just needs a more outrageous paint scheme now. Like I said in the DW thread it has the advantage of being there in the flesh and potentially running a year out from the race.
I wonder if any sponsors will jump onboard. |

good for them to be at lm next year. but the aco should keep these freaks out of the rest of the wec. The biggest sportscar event of the year should be enough. or they should join the alms XD

I suppose given a need for cooling, they are forced to mount the radiators up high since the hydrogen tanks have to go in the sidepods, where the radiators normally sit. The tanks cant really go anywhere else.

Goodness me, some people only seem to sign up to the parts of Le Mans they want to sign up to.
Le Mans has always had a whacky-racers nature to it and throughout the races history, you will find cars as whacky as this or the DeltaWing. Very few of them have contributed anything much, but they tried, and they're something different to look at. As Le Mans has moved to far more restrictive regulations this element has been lost, and I for one welcome Garage 56 and all the wierd and wonderful creatures that come with it - fully understanding that not all cars will look like this in the future, and this is just one car against 55 others! Looking forward to seeing this thing in the flesh. |
