Regardless of this, the fact remains that the British team slighty disappointed last year (although most did relative to France) so maybe a change of driver may be a stimulus for greater results. Also, A1GP did not feature in the media to that great a degree so employing an ex IRL/Champ Car racer and former F1 test driver may go someway to getting more publicity. For this is likely to the main aim of the sponsors and Robbie Kerr, despite racing last year does remain something of an unknown to a wider audience. |

Manning at the moment is the best choice we have, IMO. As for Kerr, he really is pretty poor IMO, look at his season so far this year in WSR, hes currently 18th in the standings out of 29 drivers, that really isnt very good, especially when you consider that his team mate at KTR and fellow A1 GP driver McIntosh is currently 7th in the WSR standings and he is very new to this kind of car, his only other experince of this type of car is what he drove in A1 last year.
Slightly off topic, but relevent. IMO. |

I back Kerr for the seat, he had a hard time with the A1 car last season, you could see it was virtually undrivable most of the season and he still managed 3rd in the championship.
I have every faith that this year he'll win! |

This thread has been going along very nicely, with a nice balance of contrasting views and opinions on who may or may not race for what team. That's great, and what I love discussion forums in general for.
What is not required though is, when you disagree with someone, to insult them directly. Remember the golden rule: Attack the post, not the poster Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Now, let's get back to proper discussion. |

Autosport also call Kerr the 'lead' driver so I feel vindicated.
I do hope that they don't treat Manning in the same way as they treated Lloyd last season though!!! |

To be strictly accurate, they called Kerr the lead driver last season in the context of him not being available for China, which is why Manning was drafted in.
Team GBR is saying that during the forthcoming season the two drivers will alternate, presumably much as the French pair did last season, and Manning will definitely do the first race at Zandvoort. Oli Jarvis has also been confirmed as the third 'young' driver, which is more good news. |

Autosport today has some info about the new season: Arena might end up running Team India and WSR will probably run the USA team along with a new entrant. Aside from Singapore, who we already know about, new countries are rumoured to be Turkey and Nigeria.

Nigeria is a funny one...
reason being - yes beyond all the scammers there is a fair bit of cash in the country however... http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpage...8-2006-004.htm is as fair as Nigerian racing has got (Karting) so for a driver the only person I know of is... me. Seriously as far as I know I'm the only Nigerian competition licence holder with any single seater experience and I don't think Vee and a few LMP3 tests make enough experience to compete in A1. (and I'm only half Nigerian!) If there is another driver I would love to know who! So its me or someone straight out of Karts. And I can tell you now I'm not racing in A1GP next year as far as I know! |

Well you should hurry up and find out who the franchise holder is and then give him a call! You never know...

I supose it is quite likely that if the Nigerian entry materialises then the driver could quite easily be there on account of some distant ancestory and not actually have that many links with Nigeria. That said, I have no idea who that could possibly be, so I'd echo Kiwi3's suggestion for Sam Collins to give the franchise holder a call.

A Nigerian driver would almost certainly be black which limits you to Lewis Hamilton (from Trinidad), Naftali Ayekio (Kenyan), Olivei (St Lucia?), Maxi Jazz (who knows!), Winston Clarke (West Indies...) and the guy who used to play for West Ham. |
