Rowbottom has exceeded my expectations to be honest. A decent peddler in a good team can make you a title contender. Had a bit of luck with Sutton, Turkington and Ingram so far back but this is what BTCC is all about.
Pretty disappointing run for Proctor. Also shame for Osborne and Smelt - they could've made a bit of a breakthrough here but wasn't the case unfortunately. The gap between Chilton and Morgan is astonishing. |

Btw while it's understandable that Smiley had nowhere to go, Parfitt crashing into Oliphant looked like an amateur misjudgement.

One of those incidents where the outcome didn't match the original move. There was definitely a gap. I've seen far, far worse go unpunished and uncommented.

I just don't like Plato very much and generally don't believe he should be allowed to get away with that. Glad Rowbo got his first win though.

Why would there be a penalty for Plato? There wouldn’t even have been any talk about a penalty for anyone in all of that as no one did anything wrong at all! Some people really showing their lack of racing knowledge here…..
Obviously Smiley was a complete passenger. Feel a bit sorry for Parfitt in all of that with any criticism he will get. Yes, other drivers missed Oliphant, but the line he was on, it looked like he could have avoided him by moving to the right, but there was a car coming up alongside him and I don’t think he could have avoided him to the left, particularly if his first split second judgement was to look to the right. These things happen so quickly it’s not as easy as it looks. TV also doesn’t show quite how difficult it is to see on that corner due to how the track sweeps and dips. |

Oulton Park hosted British Touring Crash Championship, where's British Touring Car Championship that I wanted to see?

Time to consider whether a proper track like Oulton Park is suitable for the level of talent involved in the BTCC these days? There's been a shocking level of damage today.

I wonder if Boardley damaged something on his car when he hit Sutton on lap 1 of the restarted race 3?

Congratulations to Proctor, first pole, now first win with BTC Racing. Will he keep it after that collision with Sutton?

I guess Proctor on Sutton was more of a racing accident although I'm pretty disappointed with racing quality this weekend. Weekends like that makes me wonder what I really like about BTCC. Definitely not an amateurish destruction derby.

The carnage was starting to get a bit ridiculous for my liking.
