Oh yes! Brazil, Argentina double header would be lovely and then reinstating Mexico to the caldendar around one or two American rounds would suitable.

Chris Pook might be interested in bringing F1 back to Long Beech as Indy Car crowds are falling. It would also increase the number of races in the American time zones for TV deals.

http://joesaward.wordpress.com/2012/...-takes-a-peek/

I can see the logic but would 3 GPs in the USA be too many?

Long Beach was a mega event in a good location for the sport. A new layout with a bit of the old would be good.

While I would welcome a race at Long Beach, I think we should concentrate on getting one race off the ground first..

Agreed, any future GPs in the USA will be down to getting 100,000+ fans to pay for tickets at acceptable prices and for Bernie to leave room for a profit for the promoter.

A GP in London using the Olympic stadium has been proposed, could it work? 2 GPs in England is possible but there would be a lot of things to do, including a visit to Westminster to get a new law for a street race.

Reading about another story of a possible new venue for F1, I'm wondering if it's time for the FIA or Bernie to start using/promoting GP2 a bit more or start blurring the lines between F1 and GP2. What I mean is, if 20 races are the limit and there's x amount of venues also wanting to host a race but can't, the only way I can see this being accomodated is for GP2 to have greater status and for them to be used as an alternative for hosting a race. It might not satisfy potenttial organisers completely, but it's a start and can lead to hosting an F1 race later.

Isn't the Olympic park a private venue, and therefore not limited by the laws that rule public roads? I remember that they are trying to use the place at least for a race with electric cars or something similar.

Marcus666 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I am hoping for the current tracks:

1.Portimao
2.Zandvoort
3.Dubai Autodrome
4.Kyalami
5.Potreros des los funes

But I guess I should get back to realisation now.

Using GP2 to appease circuit owners wouldn't work. There are other series out there such as WSR that is arguably as much an F1 feeder and as such likely to draw a crowd and create revenue for the circuit.

Thinking about that...Do WSR still give out free tickets?

I'm saying, the FIA may need to review what role GP2 plays. I can see the need for a series, similar to what Indycars used to be and what Superbikes is to MotoGP, an alternative that could be a stepping stone to F1 or a credible series to aspire to on it's own. Beacause, you know what could happen down the track...

- 20 races now, we should increase it to 24, makes more "sense".
- On and on til it reaches 36 races.
- Hey, we're F1, the leading motorsport series in the world. Most races should reflect this, we should have 40!

Someone will then win the title, it was obvious who it was going to be 8 races in.

- We can't let the title winner, virtually, be known after 8 races. We need to do something about this, keep the title race right up til the end, keep the fans interested.
- I know, why don't we have a chase/finals series, like in Nascar?
- Yeah, that's a great idea!

I may come across as cynical, but...

The Belgian GP is secure until the end of 2015 after a new deal and no share arrangement with France. They have succeeded in getting the hosting fee reduced.

http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/2...l-2015-season/

I hope it will continue at Spa for long after that.

Great news.

Hopefully someone manages to nail some sense into Bernie. He should recognise that it is a fan and driver favourite for a reason and deserves its place on the calendar.

Will be a crying shame if as many fear, that it'll drop off the calendar after 2015.

Bernie announced that he had a new deal for the Singapore GP today.
http://www.pitpass.com/46788-Ecclest...Singapore-deal

The ink was almost dry on that anouncement when another one came from the Singapore organisers saying that there is no new deal.
http://www.pitpass.com/46790-Singapo...-new-agreement

As is usual in these things the problem is money quel surprise!

If earlier reports I've heard are true, Singapore may have some leverage on this. I remember some news items from the season in which Singapore and Valencia debuted (2008), where the material said one of the new venues was paying a fee of $70 million, and I can't imagine that it was Valencia paying that sum. With an annual 5% increase in the fee, that would put the sanction on Singapore for 2012 at $84 million.

So, as long as Singapore is paying more than the other venues, even if they demand a substantial drop in the rate from what they shell out now, Bernie is still better off taking the deal.

I see where the Nurburgring is bankrupt leaving next years German GP in doubt. Bernie has offered to take over the cost of the GP to save it.

He seems to be becoming more generous in his old age.
