Well I'd be happy to see anyone in the second seat at ferrari.
It is a stale seat really, with an unambitious man frequenting it. |

personally i think BAR should of kept JV and JB this year and i am convinced they would of scored more points (races sato finished i am sure JV would of done better) JV and JB were evenly matched with jenson edging it on outright pace.

Rubens has been outclassed this year by Michael no doubt... but under the circumstances he has done an adequete job.... it is frustrating to see him so much slower than MS and not passing MS when he is close enough to but he has done an adequete job if not spectacular |

Actually JV didn't finish that many races in 2003. I wonder if perhaps we can hypothesize that his driving style adversely affected his reliability? Surely if Sato's driving style has affected the reliability of his Honda engines, then this new theory must hold some water.

Not sure ralfy.....he said in the press conference he chose the softer tyres himself.
He's basically just happy to settle for second these days. Happy just to be at ferrari. He said in the same conference that his main opportunity in life is to win this years Brazilian GP. Once he wins that, what's next? He's obviously accepting he'll never win the title so....... Last edited by Knowlesy; 18 Aug 2004 at 21:56. |

heres the link anyway
http://www.f1i.com/articles/ARTICLE_572679.html hes happy to be second because thats where Ferrari will let him finish until Schumi's WDC is wrapped up... In Canada where he was quicker at some stages im sure he wasnt allowed to pass MS... and at Indy he made woeful attempts... and then just sat back... im pretty sure on both occasions he was told not to pass MS.. Admitting though that he has not been spectacular and he could have atleast nicked a win till now |

F1 Pete, Italy is wild all the time. And I suspect that Ferrari road car sales may enjoy a little boost in Canada if JV joins the team...

hmmm .... lets not go back there please.
As for Eddie, I seem to recall he being much more competitive and eager to race than Rubens, who seems to be more complacent than ever lately. |

Well his figurehead position is not doing anyone any good, including MS. In fact with Ferrari's dominance, racing Ferraris could inject some life in a flailing F1 and be the saving grace until other teams catch up. I know, if it wasn't RB it would be someone else ... but most credible drivers are quick to point out that they would not allow themselves to be caught up in that bs.

I'd like to see JV back in a competitve BAR, it seems rather fitting after hanging in there from the start. Admittedly, he was being paid extremely well. JV has shown in the past he has pace and the ego neccessary to succeed in F1 ( big balls ), the only downside in my opinion would be his skills in setting up and helping to develop the car.

A couple of years ago RB could be a threat to TGF on occasions. If the team is so focused on TGF then maybe it is easy to understand why RB seems so much less ambitious. Maybe he is not allowed to get too close to TGF. After his comments in Canada I wondered just what is going on at Ferrari. Slagging off at him for not trying harder is ridiculous. In that team it wouldn't matter how hard he tried or drove himself the result would be the same. Why doesn't he move? Can anyone else offer him a car that good? He is in the technically best team so where else does he go!
