Do you believe this yourself??

No way, and is there even a chance that Sato wil get back into F1 after last season??

Yes there is. It'll take a F1-newbie or a Josfan not to recognize the talent of Takuma and the progress he's made during 2002. Right now he is nutured by B*A*R, so his talent, speed and racecraft can be enjoyed to the fullest.

It is better to start your F1-career and start growing to bigger things from there, than to do it the other way around. But then again, you being a Josfan, you will disagree.

So again, why in the hell are we having this conversation?

I'm not asking you to agree with me. I'm not trying to convince you that my point is the right one, so please, lend me the same courtesy.

I REALLY can't see why you can even start to think that Sato is better than Jos...................

even Firman is doing ( a lot)better than Sato did last year.

Oh come off it! Sato had undoubted speed in '02. He simply made some rookie mistakes. But once the raw speed is met with consistency he will be a top-line driver. Just look at Suzuka last year.

Jos has, nor has had, any real pace in his career. He is merely average. No, he's below average, just.

He's gonna set the world alight in next years BAR! Come on Taku!

Jos doesn't lack pace, he lacks consistency.
The only time he drove a competitive car was in his maiden season.
Everyone expects him to be perfect straight out of the box and when Taku screws up in his first couple of races it's just "rookie mistakes"?

And everyone whines that todays rookies have to perform straight away...

Well, I suppose you're right. Jos didn't lack pace when confronted with Montoyas rear wing at Brazil 2001!

2 3rd places and a lot more points than the other 2 teammates Michael Schumacher had that year.

and Jos never showed pace??

driving 6th in a simtek(1995)

setting the fastes lap in the rain in Brazil in an Arrows Hart(1996)

overtaking David Coulthard to take 6th place in Argentina(again 96, after qualifying the Arrows Hart in 7th)

He showed enough pace in 2000 and 2001 in the Arrows, and has just put a Minardi P15 on the grid one GP ago.

arrows had the data to show that Jos actualy brakes 30 meters earlier on thap lap than he did on all the laps before that, and: was'nt it strange that all those cars that where beeing hit from the back in the beginning of 2001 were Williams cars??

Hence the rear wing at Imola practice.

Yes, Jos has showed flashes of pace, but not often enough I feel.

And the 15th place at Canada recently was something of a hoax....

Didn't Jos test for Jordan in 99 (With the chance of a race seat) when Damon wasn't sure if he would continue after the British GP or not?

if you see all the teams Jos has driven and tested for you see that many different teambosses saw the talent and speed that Jos has.

well, we'l just have to ask Jackie Oliver,Flavio Briatore, Ron Dennis, Eddie Jordan, Tom Walkinshaw, Jackie Stewart, Nick Wirth and Paul Stoddart about that.

to bad whe can't ask Ken Tyrrell or Harvey Postlewaite anymore(uncle Ken even quit early when Craig Pollock did'nt want Jos to drive the Tyrrell in 98)

Flavio Briatore had Jos in his team in 94, aranged a Simtek seat for him in 95(when he was also Benetton testdriver) and hired him back to test for Benetton in 98.
Tom Walkinshaw had Jos in the team after he took it over in 96, rehired him in 2000 and renewed his contract for 2001, he also gave Jos a new contract for 2002 but did'nt keep his word.
Ken Tyrrell hired Jos in 97(but wanted to have him in the team since 1993) and quit Tyrrell when Jos could'nt drive for "his" team in the final year.
Harvey Postlewaite also worked with Jos at Tyrrell, and decided to hire him when he needed a testdriver for the Honda in 99.
Jos was also offered the Mclaren testdriver position for 1994, but chose Benetton.

so a lot of people seem to think he's a good driver.

He hired Takagi and Rosset instead, because he did'nt want to spend any money in 98, but as all Pollock decisions go: it did'nt work out to good.

come on: you're talking about the man who hired Patrick Lemarie as a BAR testdriver and had hired him as CART driver this season, he never made any sane decision i.m.h.o.
