Looking at it a bit more - it wouldn't surprise me if this is, in part, Moto GP related.
The non-Bugatti racing line for cars is to hug the left-hand curb as you go under the bridge, then drift quickly across to the right to set yourself up for entry to the Esses. So you'd never be over there on a hot lap. There's also no need to go that wide to over-take a slower car that I can see. What it could do is widen out the entry for the right-hander onto the Bugatti. The picture from last year shows the potential. They've just taken the liberty of extending the tarmac down. It will be interesting to see how it develops. But to me it doesn't seem like anything that would alter lap times or the racing. Just another small chip away at the character of the circuit. |

Somehow you would have thought they'd be concentrating their efforts on adjustments necessary for the full circuit, rather than 'tinkering' for the sake of the Bugatti again. I stand to be corrected, of course....... |

Looks like extra drainage in the tarmac on the inside of the forest esses.

Pointless doing it ready for this year's race.

We are able to remember what that is like but for those under 30 those races are probably thought of as tall tales told by those of a certain age |

Hot and dry at Le Mans? Reminds me of a quote out of Lord of the Rings
Galadriel: "History became Legend. Legend became myth" |

Well, some further details must be given.
This afternoon, I went to the circuit to verify. In the fact no changes on the track: - http://ekladata.com/xVVzycmdsaPkoapW...as@500x281.jpg - http://ekladata.com/fi65QRoWZEVGAe4J...Yo@500x281.jpg - http://ekladata.com/fi65QRoWZEVGAe4JgPEAnnXhnYo.jpg Pictures of the Bugatti circuit showing the new graveltrap in this curve. This one http://ekladata.com/NwwoDAD6Oy4Nw9az...-w@500x281.jpg I think they only widen the asphalt strip. And in the same curve I think it is current maintenance : https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-9...129_143744.jpg + https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-h...129_143749.jpg Nothing important elsewhere except on the old karting circuit where the old pits disappear one after the other : https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-G...129_150719.jpg + https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-R...129_150723.jpg |

Some good views, like the huge pile of gravel in the third picture, that will slow the first car that hits it for sure
Chhers for posting them Eric |

But thank you Eric! - I'm sad to see the old karting pit go, but also glad that I experienced them before they where closed. |

Maybe at the entry to the Ford Chicane opposite the fairgrounds where the Audi hospitality building usually is. That's the only location near the finish straight where I can see additional room. |
