I have just bought a copy of the 2002 Bathurst Book.

A wealth of info.

Does anyone have other Bathurst Year Books?

Looking for years around 96 and 98 if so, I would be keen to ask some questions.

It's too bad there's no national or FIA registry of touring cars! That would be so cool. So is this registry you're doing semi-official if I recall correctly?

Copy the Holden history? Ummmm you'll need to be more specific than that. I'm not sure what you are asking for. Photocopying an entire book is of course illegal under copyright law.

Does the book have the car history at the back?

I have a lot of books Do you mean the Holden official racing history book, or Bathurst 96 & 98?

If so, yes I have them, but the answer is no in all three cases as Noonz only started doing the chassis histories for Chevron in 2001.

Books, pity I cant read

Hey Cracker, do you have a specific question about either of these years? That might be a better way to go about it. Im sure you will get a LOT of info from these pages.

I picked up the 2003 book from Chevron last week, and added it to my otherwise complete collection, I do also have some extras, so if anyone is interested, offers can be sent to rdmdog@hotmail.com. I would like to complete my AMRY collection, anyone anyone??

Sorry OT

I wonder if Noonz is keeping track of all the AU's that seem to have sprung from nowhere...

... noise around suggests Mr B.Forbes is still trying to unload the Green Eyed Monster, and the original ex-SBR car...

... wonder what the value of these cars might be when the BA storms into the category next season and renders them virtually obsolete?

A bloke that I work with is from Tassie, and when I mentioned that Ray Hislop was at Winton on the weekend, he told me of an Ex GSR Falcon that was sold to someone in TAssie, we are assuming it wasnt Ray, and was converted to a registered road car

I would think this would be a little unlikely, but wouldnt it be great to pull up at the lights next to

Ray Hislop had his ex-Seton EF and the Falcon GT club car... they are often referred to interchangeably but are not the same car....

Interesting to hear recently that Glenn Seton's Silver Streak AU has ended up in Lithgow with Brian Walden....

I have compiled a list of the chassis that I think have appeared so far in the V8 Supercar series with chassis numbers (where known) and debut dates in brackets. Any comments more than welcome.

Ford Performace Racing:
5 G Seton (02/03) is the ex C Lowndes car built for the beginning of the 03 series, while 6 C Lowndes (07/03) is the D Besnard chassis from 03.

Brad Jones Racing

WPS Racing
Purchased both of the 00 Motorsport chassis. The 1st was ready at the beginning of 03 and raced by G Ritter, the 2nd debuted by R Forbes in 05/03. So far only one has been raced, although both have been used in testing

Triple 8
88 P Radisich (02/03) & 888 M Wilson (02/03) ex D Canto are the same chassis as used throughout 03

IMS Motorsport
14 T Wyhoon is one of the IMS built VXs either the 2002 built car that was heavily damaged in Adelaide by Geoff Full in 2003 rebuilt, or the original 2000 car.

GTR,

Any idea on which Seton AU Brian Walden has? I think at the time of the sale to FPR, Seton still had 3 AUs in the stable the original 99 car as well as the 00 and 01 built cars raced by Besnard & Seton in 03.

The Ray Hislop Falcon story does get confusing rdmdog and GTR

Ray built the EB GT for 3J Club cars and ran it for a couple of years. He then sold it to Brendon Diprose who ran it for about a year until he then sold it to Greg Garwood who got some rego from an old Taxi and put on the car(the car still being the same seton blue as the EF its easy to see how people can get confused)
Greg fell fowl of the rules and wasn't allowed to run the car with the EB GT rear wing( as the car was registered as an EF) and in the end sold the car back to Ray -

Ray will be running at PI for the Club car nationals

My understanding is that FPR have no more AU's in their workshop, that all the equipment was sold off... or so they are saying.. as one of the reasons the team is unable to source any more of the old H6S Holinger gearboxes....

I think the Walden car is "Silver Streak" and it was entered for Winton but didnt show... if you take a peek at the ads in AA this week, the AU Falcon looking for a driver for the balance of the season is this team....

Has the Walden Family purchased the Seton car or was Brian just having a drive for some one else?
Brian was working for a team that run in the 2LT Tourers for a while and he did have a drive of a VS Sports Sedan for a while but seamed to disapear last year

Yeah that green VS Sports Sedan Brian had was a neat piece of kit, shame it didn't see more of the race tracks around the country...
