FPRXR-6 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
DJR will be using 888 chassis this season but Howard Racing that currently uses 888 chassis will run DJR powerplants.

Why would 888 change from SBR to DJR power? seems a big step back if you ask me........a really big step back.

I woulndnt say that, there were times last year where the DJR cars pulled away from SBR Engined cars. (In the reverse grid race at darin, Johnson pulled away from Lowndes down the straight, he did the same agains ingall at oran park). DJR's engine program is actually very strong. Where DJR has seemed to struggle is cornering (the drivers often suggest that thier cars are unbalanced), so hopefully their associasion with 888 should fix this this year.

Then there was a few years back at Bathurst when down Conrod DJR made all the other cars look like they were damn-near standing still. Given Davison's performances in the later races of last season before being taken out by others, with 888 chassis us DJR fans could be in for a good year

fair enough, but why would you throw away a couple of years of development with one supplier for a new deal, especially if you have to compete against a new car (VE)? I suppose I dont recall too many DJR engine failures of late and you are spot on about Will's performances, still, it seems a bit of a waste to change suppliers.....look at the whole SCAR/Perkins scenario.

The current DJR chassis' were being updated to 888 Specs, so they aren't using a new (or old) 888 chassis. (well this is what I've read)

I believe this was mentioned in MNews or on an article online.

Using some parts hardly classifies them as Triple 8 chassis.

FPR are using some 888 front suspension parts and look how good they're going.

Sorry I am totally missing something here. Dont 888 own half of the SBR engine shop. I thought that at the start of 05 888 and SBR joined forces and built the new engine and developement centre jointly. Kenny and a couple of other 888 employees moved into this engine shop and are still there today.
If this is the case it would be a massively costly move by T8 to use DJR engines, wouldnt you think. And besides I have seen nor read anything about this officially.

Back on the livery discussion for a moment, I am curious as to why 888 has rejigged the paint job of their Falcons this weekend.

If you take a peek Here, the nose of the red and silver Fords seems to have had the car maker's brand replace Vodafone as the centre-of-front-splitter signage.... and Vodafone taking a smaller role on that bar..

The Ford branding is already on the windscreen, however as the Betta paintjob had a huge Ford logo on the rear quarter panel, is this perhaps the continuation of this theme....

Everyone already knows its a Ford, do they really need a dozen signs on it (and none in their corporate typeface) to tell everyone about it?

I'd hope that the front of the 888 cars are not seen by someone elses bumper cam!
