My thoughts too. Wonder why the downshift in programmes? If a gun team like this can't find sponsors for a car then that's not a good sign. Or it might not have anything to do with money and they just want to concentrate on DTM and Asia. |

Some stuff I've read suggests them focusing on TCR this year... not sure how credible that is, but I guess that would be a bit of a demotion as well. |

If I remember rightly, Phoenix have often run Pro Am cars in Blancpain though, so hard to compare. That said, I believe WRT have always outperformed them And now Land are making waves both in Germany and in the USA, they are really proving their worth Maybe just a focus issue for Audi. They would rather Phoenix concentrate on DTM in Europe. They do have 3 programmes in Asia which is a big effort surely. 2x TCR Asia cars, 2x GT3s in Blancpain Asia, and 2x Cup cars in the LMS cup |

Sam Tordoff with Strakka is an interesting one.
Is the Mike Skeen listed with HTP a different one to the guy racing PWC the last few years? |

Strakkas line up is vast and varied
Suprised so few drivers will be gunning for the full Blancpain Title Especially Come Ledogar Endurance - Nick Leventis / Lewis Williamson / Craig Fleming (pro am) - Johnny Kane / David Fumanelli / Sam Tordoff - Rob Bell / Come Ledogar / Ben Barnicoat - Andrew Watson / Dean Stoneman / Jazaman Jaafar Sprint - Nick Leventis / Lewis Williamson - Johnny Kane / Loris Hezemans - Alvaro Parente / Ben Barnicoat - Rob Bell / Andrew Watson |

Pretty sure that's the same Skeen Suprised with Tordoff, seeing as Barwell are running here too, as he has a drive with them in British GT |

Leinders is in McLaren GT's management team now. So he'll definitely be there with the team (as Strakka is basically the official McLaren team in Blancpain now), but not driving.

Strakka lineups are interesting, no clear #1 crew (maybe the Barnicoat-Bell-Ledogar one), but talent throughout.
Mortara at AKKA Mercedes surprised me too, didn't realise he'd switched in DTM. Another Audi loss. |

Wouldn't Phoenix getting dropped as a European GT3 team be part of the continuing funding cull from VW group after you-know-what?
The blow torch was applied everywhere else, after all. Phoenix serves the rapidly emerging Asian market thus it still has tangible brand value in that sphere; as it does DTM. The 2017 Audi money bag allocation likely doesn't spread over a diverse program anymore - which would go to great lengths to explain why its participation in the B12hr was canned this year after years of support. |

I don't think so, as Audi are still funding four cars, same as in 2016, but they have swapped out Phoenix for Land. Most likely it's either due to performance in comparison to WRT, or because of Phoenix's expanding programmes in Asia. As I said, they now have 3 Asian programmes in addition to their DTM cars |

The usual bonkers good Blancpain Endurance list:
http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/le-...-gt3-a-lannee/ Pity no Lexus or any new cars, but 33 Pro cars will be crazy, Audi, Lamborghini, McLaren, Bentley, BMW, Mercedes and Nissan all throwing serious works efforts at it. |

Yeah, some of the new stuff would be nice, but Acura clearly don't value European events at the moment (is HPD/Acura North America funding that car?), the Lexus programme is borderline shambolic, Callaway are doing great things with their still new car and branching out to endurance racing in other series, Cadillac is an infuriating programme that GM will never let outside PWC and Porsche clearly don't see any value in GT3 victories. I agree that the last one in particular is a pity and it would be great to see Manthey out with a car (fingers crossed for N24), but we still have so many works programmes, great drivers in every class and another potentially superb year ahead. |

Emil Frey and Farnbacher will both centre around a GT Open campaign, although they may look to do a few one of rounds in various series. I personally struggle to see the logic in putting both teams in the GT Open. I'd say run one in GT Open full season, and the second can circulate Blancpain, VLN, gt masters, the British GT Spa round, that sort of thing |
