Yep that noise is amazing but it could be the sound of the end of noisy combustion engined cars, but we have said that before.

Looks like the test mule (of the road car) that ran at British GP.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lktppb6Qtek Altough there it apparently was only using 6 cylinders and barely accelerated at all. |

Usually sound doesn't relate to a car's reliability, unless you hear the engine go boom!
But I will say one thing, the Valkyrie is out there running while other cars are not. If the hypercar/prototype is going to be a super version of this car, then they've got somewhat of a head-start. |

Aston Martin finances aren't good. The overall car market is not good. Regardless of how promising the new cars are, if the demand is not there from consumers then it will not sell. Considering Aston only makes about 6,500 cars a year, consumer sentiment is very important. A reduction in only 650 or so car sales can knock 10% off car revenues. No money, no races.

That wasn't even close to what I said, they have been paying and allowing Newey's services to develop cars. All of that adds up to a decreased cost to play. But feel free, pretend to be an insider and poo poo every idea. Personally I'm done and taking a break from this side of the forum until spring. I don't need to be depressed by "fans" who only want the worst for their sport

I thought all the Valkyrie's were spoken for? If that's the case then it's already a success. Of course most will be garage queens but that's not Aston's concern. If it sells out it makes them money.

Who gives a damn where the money's coming from as long as good and interesting cars make it to the grid, and there's nothing illegal or unlawful/unethical going on from that end?
Only thing I think is horsecrap is that ACO wanting to aim for a laptime within a few seconds of 3:30 for the new LMP1s at LM (last we saw laptimes that slow from the top class was 2006/2007) and the massive weight increase for the new cars (1100kg min weight as of now). Granted, I'd bet that AMR are at least partly responsible for that at least since it seems that they maybe want to run the Valkyrie AMR Pro track car with relatively few mods. However, I do realize that I have about as much control over this subject as I do politics or the weather. It's not like the world's ending. |

They’re not good financially at the moment but everyone’s waiting to see if the DBX sells. Hopefully it does well for everyone’s sake. If it wasn’t for the DBX there wouldn’t be much hope at all. The Valkeyrie won’t save the company but it’s sold out and is a guaranteed earner for the company so that’s a good thing in the short term. The Valkeyrie will race regardless of Aston’s sales. The likes of R Motorsport don’t depend on Aston for sponsorship so they can go it alone if need be. Do you really think Aston is putting a cent into the R Motorsport DTM project? More like the other way around. |

Very true, R Motorsport are just the biggest AM fan boys, so pursue these projects out of their own means, their cars always have good sponsorship Funnily, the GT3 cars are usually sponsored by a local AM dealership |

Maybe the Valkyrie lmp program makes financial sense for AM too. I said it before but I do wonder if there's a couple of teams asking for them, it may float the project. Sorta like a small lmp2 type purchase/lease deal?

Sounds to me like they're not going to be ready to have 4 cars running. At least that's how it sounded by the quotes in that article.
