From Twitter:
#24HSERIES | Due to avoidable collisions during this and several races of 24H SERIES, #11 Scuderia Praha cannot join from next round on. |

Thank goodness they did not throw a code 60 on that.
Great finish! 13 periods of code 60 for a little over 4 hrs. Congrats to the Belgian 19 Audi team. 16 Black Falcon Merc team gave it a good go for 2nd place. First win for Audi at this race since it started in 2006. Last edited by canamman; 16 Jan 2016 at 10:31. |

That's swift and resolute.
I missed the crash, who was in the car and what happened? Was it the off-camera crash that hospitalized Thomas Martinson? Edit - Confirmed to be just for the next round, after Mugello 12H Scuderia Praha will be allowed back in the series. |

Dubai 24 Hours 14- 16th January 16
Yeah this was just announced on RLM and it was from Creventic themselves not the stewards. But only for Mugello 12hrs not the rest of the season.
Edit-apparently the incident was not caught on camera but apparently there was enough eyes on the spot for the organisers to make such a decision. |

Great job from the RLM guys. How do they keep doing that over 1 whole day is amazing. Especially since I bet these Crevantic races are much more difficult to do commentary than WEC, SRO or IMSA. As a viewer its tougher to watch too with so many cup, sport, and touring cars running around where we are trying to focus on the GT3 machines. Dubai probably is not the most TV friendly circuit either.

Ouch that's nasty. So who was driving the Praha Ferrari when it hit the Ginetta?

Is that purely the accident damage, or did they have to cut the driver out of the car?

According to Primus Racing Matteo Cressoni had four wheels off the track before slamming into the Ginetta, both cars then hitting the barriers.
Thomas was trapped in the car for an hour, had to be cut out and was then transferred to hospital immediately, where he was indeed diagnosed with six broken ribs and a broken collarbone. |

The Creventic announcement also mentioned other previous incidents and transgressions by Team Praha, it seems this was the last straw etc.

Interesting to note that if the organizers (Creventic) thought their entrant (Scuderia Praha) was 'out-of-line' on a number of previous occasions, why didn't they have a talk with the team or put a warning in effect to try to avoid a serious incident like the one that occurred [and let to the non-invitation aka suspension of Scuderia Praha]. Now they're responding after the affairs have occurred instead of acting pro-actively.
I also find it strange Creventic is criticizing other organizers, what have they got to do with all this??? |

They beat this one to death on MWM that I just listened to.
Seems like an aggressive punishment with no real backbone, at least evidence wise. I do feel, however, there should be more severe punishments for drivers AND teams that have a track record of boneheaded moves (all contact is "avoidable"). Not saying this punishment fits the this incident but these harsh punishments could clean up some of the racing, maybe. |

On Autosport, arguably the giant in motorsport general media, there were 4 articles in total about the Dubai 24 Hours. 3 of them involved the Ferrari ban. So I guess whatever you think about the debacle, at least it generated some halo...

Interesting. Maybe this will be a milestone in punishments or this time next year it will be forgotten.
Taking this back to the actual race, the increased interest and popularity in this race has increased the sheer numbers, complicating the situation for drivers and stewards alike. Numbers is a good problem to have. |
