Pilgrimage should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
My word!!!
I am shocked at how tight that looks.
The track also looks very narrow - is the width finished?
I feel that this is one of the most drastic atmospheric changes to LM I have seen, and i think it will drastically effect that part of the circuit.
Also - that grandstand is a loooonnnngg way from the track now.

I've said this before and think it would be fantastic and would make the sweep into the new esses spectacular. I am afraid it is a pipe dream though for the time being

Simply not going to happen.

If that were the case then any loss of control in the later part of the "drive thru" would have the car heading straight for the left side of the bridge only to then potentially bounce back onto the track.

However, I don't think its quite as tight as it looks because that part of the track is now almost a double apex. I'm looking forward to testing it out in Gran Tourismo 5!

I'm out there next week so will look and take some pictures then report back, I understand the track is complete, Tetre Rouge wasnt stated and stays the same for another year, the village is still a pile of rubble.

I understand there may have been some changes to the infield spectator area at Tertre Rouge although I'm not 100% sure.

I think you're right: it seems all the earth and rubble from the work at Dunlop/Village went to the spectators hump inside Tertre Rouge corner
that could mean better view for spectators there

Tertre Rouge 2007?

Regarding what changes are going to be made to Tertre Rouge for 2007, it seems that the corner is going to be pulled in, making it not a sharp as in past years. I wonder what affects the changes to TR will have on the speeds of the cars?? Faster onto Mulsanne or slower?? What do you think?

Something that I would like to see back is the Dunlop Bridge at Tertre Rouge!!! It was ashame that it was torn down after 1978 due to the 1979 modifications to TR. There are some awesome pictures of Porsche 917s running under the bridge going onto Mulsanne. What was the reason for its removal???

The reprofiling of the track will obviously allow the cars to carry a few more mph onto the Mulsanne straight.

But I have to say, I'm far more concerned about the appeal of Tertre Rouge from a spectator point of view once the development of the area is complete. I'm not sure I want to stand outside a football stadium. It will probably encourage me to spend more time at Arnage and Mulsanne in future.

So with you there Pascal. Those trees have to be preserved.

I'm getting really tired of all this change.

Best idea for a football stadium imo !!!

I agree that the ACO should let up a bit on track changes. There seems to be a tinkering with the circuit every couple of years at present. For me the history of the track is half the appeal, the fact that the drivers today share most of the track with the drivers of 50 years ago. However this is slowly being eroded, you could argue that it is only true for the pit straight and the Mulsanne corner to the Porsche curves now.
My real concern would be any more chicanes/curves on the fastest sections - Le Mans has always been a high speed track. With the Mulsanne chicanes and the Dunlop chicane/new Esses replacing what used to be a flatout blasts, the track is in danger of losing part of its character.

I still haven't heard anyone pooh-pooh the assertion in the Le Mans poster thread that a chicane is planned between Mulsanne Corner and Indianapolis. Was that just a joke that I missed?

Its real, work starts later this year! They have started or will start soon on the tram tunnel under the main road just after tertre rouge, had a quick look when I was out there last week, the bar is just a big hole 10-20 metres deep.

Let's all complain then. Time by time the car's will go slower round the track. It's seems as if the circuit is to be a rolling sportscarmuseum.
Maybe the idea of chicanes comes from the television companies. Their cameras can't match up with the speed of the cars!

Mulsanne - Indianapolis is now great fun and difficult enough when I drive it on the PS2 GT4.

So the chicane will be ready for 2007?

Must admit track changes don't bother me one bit.

I guess the ACO are trying to put together a circuit that doesn't demand cars that are designed for Le Mans alone.

In some ways I find this a shame. I liked the uniqueness of Le Mans. Take a D-Type, not the best at most places but come Le Mans...

So there will be a chicane between Mulsanne corner and Indianapolis? If so, damn whoever that decided to put it there.

I agree too that Le Mans is losing its character due to all these track changes. The only changes I would like to see is to get rid of the Dunlop and Mulsanne chicanes and then to stop changing the circuit!
