Cars like the Mercs and Toyotas will be in the company's museums or some very rich and/or very private collections.

It will be great to see these cars out again.
The series has lots of potential, just needs a year or two. 20 cars interested within a few months is a good return and once word spreads and people realise they can race one of these monsters in a series i am sure it will take off. A GroupC must be as tricky to run as a GT1/2 car?? and also how many F1 cars are in EuroBOSS with F1 engines these days?? THere is plenty of experianced mechanics out there to run these cars. Now they have somewhere to run them. Just think having the historic F1 series (TGP and Masters) and the Group C (which is taking off alot more at the moment) all on the same meeting. Think of the noises you would hear. |

I've been to silverstone once before, but can someone give me a recommendation as where to stand (or sit) where you can here the cars accelerating?
When I was at the Silverstone classic last year, I stood between Club and Abbey and that was pretty good, but any recomendations would be fantastic! Cheers |

From the most recent series newsletter:
"SRO are proud to confirm a rich and diverse first starting grid, including three McLaren GTR, two Porsche 911 GT1, one Lotus GT1 and several Venturi, Ferrari, TVR, Stealth and Marcos cars" |

*edit* - advantage of the two places I've suggested, too, is a good view of the final complex of corners, and is usually near to a large TV screen |

One of the closest places you can get to the cars at Silverstone is the viewing area between the bridge over the international (and GP) circuit and the bridge over the National circuit. Although, the Big Screen is sited somewhere around there, so might get in the way.
Although Silverstone is a nasty windswept piece of real estate, you do get plenty of different places to watch from, and there will be plenty of room to move at the FIA GT event, so you can check them all out. |

According to Autosport, BMS Scuderia Italia have entered the Porsche 911 GT1 that they ran back in 1997, and FIRST Racing have entered the Lotus GT1. And John Greasley wants to enter the Blue Coral 911 GT1 also.

Nice! The BMS had those famous dayglo/white chevrons didn't it?
What about the Quaife from Brit GT around that time. Sounded nice, looked great albeit a bit unreliable but that would be another nice entry? |

They should have a 2 hour support race of these cars at Le mans ..... it would be magic to see them again .
Konrad had a 911 Gt1 , but I think it was owned by Giesse , kremer had one too , Schubel . The JMB car went to Blue Coral . What did Champion and Rohr do with their 911 GT1 evo's in the States ? We need a few ferrari F40 LM for the series . |

No idea what happened to the Rohr 911 GT1, but the Champion car was run in Texaco livery at the Daytona 24 Hours a few years back. I would presume it's either still with Champion, or perhaps Gunnar Racing who ran it at Daytona. Last edited by geeteeone; 29 Mar 2007 at 16:18. |

The white Gunnar car was on display at Daytona last year, not sure who owns it.

Now confirmed in Autosport - John Greasley will run the Blue Coral Porsche 911 GT1 in the GT90s races at Silverstone, co-driving with Nigel Barrett.
