Evans is looking good, can he hold it together for the remaining rounds? Even if he was helped by others hitting problems, he did all that was required

Bottom line is that the Wrc needs a regular spot on mainstream TV and much better marketing of its key personalities. Looks like Hamilton is cheesed off with F1 - it's a pity his contracts prevent him from doing some rallying. It didn't hurt Jim Clark. |

To be fair compared to the mid 00s, the coverage of the WRC is a lot better. Especially the last few years when C5 would give extensive coverage to Rally GB

In Sweden the mainstream coverage is very odd.
On the one side, Swedish state TV has broadcasted 3 live stages each event this year instead of the usual one, while also showing a standard one hour summary after the events on Sundays. On the flip side, WRC exposure is minimal outside of state funded TV and radio, almost non-existent. |

Just caught up with the last rallies from Turkey and Sardinia courtesy of BT, jeez those surfaces were rough! It's such low key compared with other motor sports events that it's pretty much fallen off my radar being mainly a circuit racing fan but I'll be watching next weekend's final from Imola with patriotic enthusiasm. Be great to see an Elfin Evans win and by all accounts the mixture of stages and surfaces will be really interesting. Wi Tanak throw it up the road again in a desperate bid to prove a point and how many extra/different drivers will Hyundai enter to gain ground?

I think you mean Monza. Hasn’t been quite the same with so few rallies, especially now Ypres has fallen off the schedule. But that shouldn’t devalue Evans’ potential title

Yep, my mistake. The official site has details of the stages and it's the weekend after next 3rd-6th Dec.

It's been a tough year for motorsports, but some have handled it better than others. Sadly, the WRC has been even more anonymous than ever. Just 3 rounds since the lockdown ended - most other series have had regular events. Even the ERC has managed better than the WRC.
In fact, only the Monte in January, has been a full WRC event; all the rest have been cut short for one reason or another. However, if Elfyn wins, he'll deserve it; everybody has had the same chances to score points. |

Elfin was easy to overlook at first. After all he didn’t have the raw speed of another driver from these parts, Meeke, but these past few years we have seen his real talent and he is definitely a more rounded driver than Kris. It’s also one of the few cases of a son being better than his father

Hopefully he can, it would be well deserved.
However, it won't be the shot in the arm British rallying badly needs.....I'm not sure that is possible. |

Elfin still holds a pretty slim lead in the championship, at the start of stage 10 Elfin is only 4 points ahead of Ogier. Can he sustain the pressure?

Another one for Ogier - gutted for Evans though.
It looked like a good event from what I saw of it - some interesting bits on the stages with parts of the Monza banking being used. I reckon that would be great fun |
