The two caution periods didn't help. It seemed to take a long time to recycle the back markers during the first one.

Oh, for sure. It almost seems like this event shouldn't be run to 300km.

IceMan_PJN has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Not going to say much to avoid a profanity-filled tantrum, but I wanted to throw the remote at the television. Lewis deserves a second WDC win and now there is no realistic way of that for 2012.

I don't think he deserves it any more than Alonso, who has driven well this season with a pig of a car.

Hamilton and Alonso deserves the Championship in 2 different ways.
Hamilton for being the fastest driver in the fastest car.
Alonso for being the most constant in the worst of the Title cars.

Webbo got a 20 sec penalty for overtaking Kobayashi off the track??? I thought it was a legit move, but I didnt record the race so I cant rewatch it. Very odd descision

Schumi got a 10 place grid penalty for Japan, which is fair enough. It only means one thing, he will do another pole position

I thought Webber had gone off the track. I was hoping for a replay but it never materialised.

Button was anything but a class act, i found it disgusting that he went to cry to both the team and to the FIA about nearly crashing into Vettel, I beg your pardon??? LOOK BLOODY AHEAD, USE YOUR EYES, USE YOUR BRAIN AND STOP WHINING. (Vettel's victory was in danger for 3 hours after the race, he had to see the stewards about it) Very unclassy. Especially considering he brake tested Alonso a lap later behind the safety car, and he wasnt even the leader of the pack. Disappointing coming from him.

Vettel came almost to an abrupt stop, not surprising Button nearly ran into the back of him. It took me by surprise and I was merely watching it on TV.

Yup, me too. Given that most teams will make representations to the FIA at the slightest little thing - and that McLaren have been penalised in the past (Hamilton) for transgressions under the safety car, I think it's entirely fair.

If they'd been the other way around you can bet that RB would have been on the blower to Charlie, and rightly so regardless of the outcome.

Mind you, the investigation ended with the result of Vettel braking at the exact same place he did a lap before.

Besides, being the leader, he has every right to determine the pace behind the safety car anyway. It only looked odd on TV because of JB's clumsiness. Full stop.

Only a lap after JB went on the brake test Alonso quite bad. So all in all it was just ridiculous to whine about it on the team radio (I can kinda see from a team's perspective, how they want to hold on to any last straw in the championship battle, but JB's whining just wasnt classy)

I can see why Jenson "tried his luck "with the stwards, but ultimately the right result imo. Tbh i'm surprised that we don't see more accidents/collisions on the lap preceeding the restart.

If you want classy whinging you need to checkout an Internet forum.

On the podium Eddie Jordan tried to create more controversy out of this. Except Jenson didn't rise to it. That sounds like the sort of thing you'd appreciate.

I don't recall Button brake testing Alonso.

Rather unfair. Vettel blasted off, JB thought he was starting the run to the line, then SV slammed his brakes on. Very unexpected behaviour. Nothing to do with clumsiness. Being leader and being in charge of speed does not entitle you to behave dangerously. In this case he didn't, but it looked close to me.

Argh, Lewis. Driving so well all year but it isn't quite going to plan! I think his hopes are done so I pull for Alonso now to hold off he of the finger.

TGF is driving with a maturity beyond his years. Like a doddery old granny with dodgy cataracts. Scary, scary lack of judgement at times.
