Coronel will be in a new factory run car not his usual GR Asia one. GR will have no involvement this weekend.

Chilton got pole, vauxhall 1-2-3. But Plato hasn't surrendered yet. He took 4th in the the last minutes of the session

Menu maybe in a new car, but Vauxhall are very experienced and Menu knows this track very well. |

Given that Tom's got the latecomer's ballast, he's the same gap behind Plato, as Plato is behind Chilton. A fair performance I would say.
I guess all the teams have been slipstreaming today though - so let's hope the Leon's race pace is better - or else I can see the first two races being Vauxhall domination - with Gio finishing first in both and with it taking over the lead in the championship for race 3.. |

O'Neill over a second behind Allison (on a circuit he knows, unlike Coronel) - remind me again why this guy is so highly-regarded?
Could be a thrilling finale - if Gio can win the first two races he's got every chance. Having Menu out there as tailgunner could give things some extra spice. |

Just read Vauxhall have nominated Giovanardi and Menu to score manufacturer points - no wonder Chilton went and got pole..
Anyone else feel someone is getting shown the door after tomorrow ? |

Unless it's changed recently the nomination deadline for manufacturer points is the drivers' briefing on Sat afternoon, i.e. after qualifying.
Chilton may quick over one lap but I suspect in the race he will rag the car to death, drive all over the curbs in a bid to stay in front, then wonder why his tyres disintegrate at half distance. If by some miracle he does manage to hold it together, what odds he gets 'the phonecall' before the end. |

Looks like Tom Chilton will be heading off to the Job Centre ...
Being denominated is no surprise, it seems like he will drive too agressively for the tyres and fall away. |

Allison must have played a blinder to get 10th.. 4 laps in practice one, none in practice two.. wonder what was wrong.
I hope they keep Allison on next year, after all he's had all his bad luck for the next 3 years this season. |
