Correct, for lack of budget.
Also no Omar or Agustin Martinez, José Manuel Urcera or Facundo Chapur. |

Its the first time in 30 years that Ortelli or Martinez (Omar, aka "El Guri") don't start a championship...
OTOH i don't know about Urcera reasons, but Chapur and Agustin Martinez will prioritize the TC debut over the Pickups. And, Ciantini.... i don't even know what the JP Carrera (now working together with Las Toscas, again) is doing. Last edited by TuteZaek; 8 Feb 2024 at 15:23. |

So, i was talking about how many "new" cars will be racing in TC this year (and the number balance between brands)
Last year was an interesting year in numbers because of the amount of Dodges 16, vs 14 Fords, 13 Torinos (ended 12), 10 Chevrolets and 2 Toyotas (ended with 3) The ACTC has the oportunity to "balance" the numbers by brand with the new generation, with, asuming a similar 50/55 cars field, could end with 10/11 cars by brand by 2025/26... Is worth noting that the rules about the cars the drivers moving up from the lesser series seem to have incorporated the Camry (as per the Agustin Martinez case) in adition to the Dodge and Torino. So how are the expected numbers for this year? The Ford Mustang is expected to reach the 11 car field by this year with Werner De Benedictis Bonelli Gianini Urcera Catalan Magni Todino Lambiris Trosset TBA (Guri Martinez Team) TBA (Uranga Racing) The Chevrolet Camaro has almost reached this hypotetical cap too with 8 expected for this year Ledesma Risatti Quijada Ebarlin Mazzacane Benvenutti Ardusso TBA Pradecon Camaro Next is the Camry, with 5 (or 6 if Rossi enters one) Jakos Ferrante Gini Agrelo Agustin Martinez The Chally has 3 potential (announced) for this year Trucco Lautaro de la Iglesia Castellano Finally there are 2 Torinos Tobias Martinez Landa |

That line that goes downward... if it were parallel to the floor it wouldn't be that weird.

All the "new generation" cars:
Tobias Martines Torino (it's track presence is amazing, the best looking one so far) Werner's Mustang Risatti's Camaro: Ledesma's Camaro: (A better look than the presentation) De Benedictis Mustang (The first TC Mustang made) Ferrante's Camry (The Camrys are on the weird side, and this one had some damage, also the only pic i found, with a bonus of Ledesma's Camaro) Trosset's Mustang: (going for a simple but nice style) Trucco's Dodge (This one looks really better with the decoration) Quijada's Camaro (On a side note, Quijada said that the frontal visibility is better, but the rear one is basically "Nothing" because of the new wing, also had some problems with the bonnet) |

And...the Mustang win its first ever TC Pole Position.
Mariano Werner won the qualifying by .010 over Ardusso with a "classic" Chevy with Gini in 3rd with the 2023 Camry (Who will start his "serie" from last, for acumulating penalties in 2023) As for the other "New gen cars" The best Camaro was Quijada in 12th, .503 behind Tobias Martines got the 2024 Torino to 15th Jakos got the best 2024 Camry in 18th Ledesma ended 19 with his Camaro Trosset was 22 in a Mustang Risatti was 26 in a Camaro De Benedictis Mustang was 27 All of this within the first second of Werner's time Trucco was 1.3 seconds behind in 32nd, with the Challenger, that still needs a lot of work, but is closer in the pace than the first tests Finally Ferrante ended 37, but will start last on his serie because of his 3 2023 penalties. |

The Torino 2024 and Tobias Martinez win their debut TC race at El Calafate. Martinez ended in 4th on the race, but because of penalties against on track winner Ciantini, for an incident with Landa in the last lap while fighting for the lead, Ebarlin for a crash in the start that ended with a lot of cars out, and Chapur (His engine failed the compression test and was dq'd) he was awarded the victory Last edited by TuteZaek; 25 Feb 2024 at 18:38. |

Hey, that i'm rooting for him since forever, because Torino and because he is an overtaking beast.
If only last year Trotta made a car that could do a decent qualy, he (and Benvenuti) would had better chances at the championship |

Joaquin Cafaro says that the main differences between a Uruguayan Superturismo and a Turismo Nacional Clase 2 is that the latter has slick tyres and passive rear-wheel steering, so cars rotate more easily, but are less stable in braking.

Nopes, IIRC is regulated by the Federación Metropolitana (The same as the F3 Metro) which itself depends of the CDA.
I had to read a bit more, because there is the other "4000“ series got me confused (the turismo 4000 argentino, born as the Supercart and the unifying rules with the Procar) The Procar4000 was born as a cheaper alternative to the TC in 1996, and was always regulated by the CDA Last edited by TuteZaek; 29 Feb 2024 at 12:19. |

The TC2000 starts the 2024 season in Concordia this weekend and here are the confirmed participants:
Axion Energy Sports: Will field the venerable and dominant Fluence again this year, with minimal changes on the livery. Drivers: Leonel Pernia Facundo Aldrighetti Figgo Bessone (rookie) Matias Capurro (rookie) TGR Argentina: Again with the Corolla, this time in black (and looking so much better than the TC Camry) Drivers: Matias Rossi Marcelo Ciarrochi YPF Honda Racing RV: Civics again, same livery as last year. Drivers: Berni Llaver Franco Vivian Emiliano Stang (Rookie?) YPF Elaion Auro (Pro Racing/Lincoln Motorsport) will field 2 Cruzes, but with more golden details, including the rims Drivers: Damian Fineschi Ignacio Mendez (Rookie) Octanos Competicion: Again, same car as last year, the old DTA Fiats similar liveries, but red details instead of last year yellow. Drivers: Thomas Michelloud (Rookie) Juan Pablo Traverso (Rookie, and possibly not full time) JM Motorsport: Only a Focus III (ex TC2000 series, but with the engine of the main series) with driver confirmed, but they also expect to race the Cruze, and a 2nd Focus for the 2nd race. Drivers: Ayrton Chorne (Rookie) TBA TBA (Not in concordia) No car pics In the main TC2000 page other drivers and teams are mentioned: Javier Scuncio Moro, with Honda (Last year he was the best rookie, with the works team but the Honda team did not mention him) Miguel Garcia with a Renault (Ambroggio second team?) Milton Bobel with a Citroen (Chaco Racing team or SDE Racing team) Kevin Filipo with a Chevrolet. (M&R?) Also, Ayrton Chorne is announced as racing a Chevrolet even if the team confirmed it is a Focus. Finally, Eurofarma is mentioned as a team, last year they fielded a Cruze (from the Pro Racing team) for Ricardo Mauricio for the BS AS 200km race. This year will not be a TC2000 series championship, with the cars being available to convert to the main series. Last edited by TuteZaek; 1 Mar 2024 at 01:25. Reason: More data |

Also, the SUVs get delayed till June/July and expected to be used in a "Super 8" format (1 on 1 elimination short races) for this first year, in parallel to the main championship (or thats what i understood)
