And no I don't HAVE to agree.

So you believe that what Colin said was 100% accurate?

I believe Colin Bond was 100% wrong in what he said, wether it was his call or not. You dont make comments like that unless you have seen all there is to see, heard all there is to hear and spoken to all the people that need speaking to.

Was a good thread Archer, but as has been the case in the past, and will happen again, some people just can't see when a huge blunder has occurred.

Sure it's not all Colin Bond's fault BUT HE DEFENDED IT ON LIVE TV!!! That's why he's coping it. He's the "face" or "voice" if you like, of the stewards. I bet you he never does that again.

(how i got dragged into a discussion on brake discs i'll never know).

Bomn, i know where colinbond is coming from, but your arguments have me stuffed mate.

… some people just can't see when a huge blunder has occurred.

The penalty was within the rules whether it has the right penalty or not it was still within the rules.

He's the "face" or "voice" if you like, of the stewards.

Since when.

I bet you he never does that again.

I bet they wont allow the TV crew in race control again.

(how i got dragged into a discussion on brake discs i'll never know).

People hold Crompton up as an expert. His qualifications to back this are he has driven V8 supercars and he can string a few words together. So can Rodney Forbes. That doesn’t make him an expert.
He was wrong to attack Colin Bond and as a member of Cams he can be fined or otherwise penalised for doing so.

Bomn, i know where colinbond is coming from, but your arguments have me stuffed mate.

Disagree. Lowndes had almost lost control of his car (or do you think he was about to do a donut for the crowd?). Murphy thumped him. Hard to avoid (or do you think you could've zapped up the inside of Craig?)

Since when ?

Since he got up and spoke about the incident on National and International TV...LIVE.

N e x t t i m e I w I l l s p e a k s l o w l y s o y o u c a n k e e p u p.

Don't bother. Your arguments and links to the FAQ are really quite boring and childish. You're a person that makes his mind up and will never change it, even though the hole you're digging for yourself gets deeper and deeper...mate.

Obviously Colin Bond, the stewards and clerk of course should be immediately dragged in front of a wall and shot for the good of humanity...that'll learn 'em

(in case you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic - its only motor racing. The judges of fact don't always get it right, somethings you get away with stuff, sometimes you get pinged unfairly - get over it)

Also, some posters here should be a bit more respectful of others and moderate their behavour. Don't take it personally that somebody else doesn't necessarily agree with you - and definitely don't resort to name calling (any psycologist can tell you that says more about the user than it does about the target).

Isnt Bondy's workshop in the suburb you list as your own AussieV8, over opposite the Castrol works in McCredie Rd? You might want to wander down there and have a chat

Funny you should say that I live on McCredie Rd and just down from the Castrol Bldg. The sercurity guards are #ricks cause my neighbour and I walk our dogs down there and take a short cut through the factory site to the park. I wouldn't waste my breath on him after the involvement he had with the other clowns on the disgraceful decision him and the others made on the weekend. Mind you one of my dogs crapped near there and I didn't see it. HeHe.

You may not choose a name which infers that you are someone else - whether that be another user on this website or elsewhere, or a driver, team boss, or anyone else in the motorsport industry.

So are you really the Driving Standards Adviser?

For all of those so stubborn over this issue and are sticking to their guns even though they now know they are wrong (if they look at the footage) but don’t want to lose face because they made such strong arguments before and don’t want to look like a fool.

Let me for a second draw from one of your arguments…
You say Colin Bond is a Driving Standards Advisor. I wonder what the job description for that position entails? Hmmmm…

You would presume it means assessing the standards of driving of those on the track, in other words – an incident takes place and the driving standards of two or more drivers are morally questionable – whom do they call in ladies and gentleman – THE DRIVING STANDARDS ADVISOR – Yes that’s Colin Bond.
So who do you think the final decision came down to in the Murphy / Lowndes incident? You guessed right, Colin Bond.
Yes there may have been some debate but I’ll put money on the final decision came down to him.

So stop defending him just to save face on earlier comments because you haven’t got a leg to stand on!

Archer you are wrong!

Colin Bond gives an opinion and then the Stewards make the decision.

Colin Bond was given the job by the drivers because the drivers thought that the stewards were out of touch.

So Colin got the job because the drivers did not like the decisions.

Now everyone hates Colin because they still don't like the decisions!

What is the answer?

Exactly.

I am not wrong you are still reading me wrong, he gives an opinion... Yes, but how often do you think the stewards go against his opinion (the answer being not very often).
Anyway how can you make opinions and decisions with out gathering all evidence from ALL sources? Something the stewards and Coilin did not do.

The problem in the old days was whether or not a car was past the B-pillar, and this is still a problem today. Where there humans making decisions there will always be eras- heck, the TV umpire in football still gets it wrong a fair percentage of the time. I'd say in 95% of cases where someone spears off after contact from the rear, it would warrent a penalty. Technically he hit him from the rear. **** happens...

So should the stewards ask the people at home what they think and let them make the decision for them?

Why did they give the job to Colin? Because he has been there and done it.

How many people that are bagging Colin's decision have driven a race car at Winton?
