It's an odd one isn't it? Not exactly a resounding endorsement for his own squad is it? Will the Marklund team still be running cars for other people? Hasn't Rustad signed to use one of their cars? Any news on Topi and Foust?

I agree, one can seriously say that Anton left the family business for some other competition (If I am spelling that right). The whole team is built upon Antons rallycross career with his father being the crew chief. So yes, it is a bit odd.

This opens up for someone else though. Will be really interesting to see who replaces Anton at the team

I think Rustad is planning to drive a Marklund Polo, but Nyborg Motorsport will run the car? Sure that is what I read.

As said its not really a great advert for the Marklund team, I hope the empty seat goes to a decent driver. Not sure how feasible it is, but would be great to see Jeanney in a reliable car like the Polo for 2015.

The only other thing I could think of was that as Marklund is running in the new Audi TT circuit racing championship as well this year maybe he wanted to (or had to) switch to Audi for rallycross as well.

I am surprised by the EKS / Anton Marklund move. He's a decent driver but there are others who I rate higher. Als what does this mean for Marklund Motorsport?

I'm sure Anton left Marklund so that they can take in a pay driver. Anton wasn't bringing any spnsors to the Marklund team.

Timmy Hansen to Marklund ? Petter Solberg? Joking apart, I hope that a talented driver will race in the Polo.

How many Polos will they run? Is Heikkenen back? Foust? If both of those get a full season then that's not a bad lineup. But from Eddi's comment I assume that there's another name in the frame?

Mats Lysen has aimed to be back this year, or at least he said last year in a few articles. I really hope that he will replace Anton

No rallycross for him in 2015.

I am sure Henning is a nice bloke but can someone tell me how he keeps getting sponsored rides when some very good rally(cross) drivers can't find a seat? Does he pay for the seats because I thought I read his company was in trouble.

This is NOT what is happening but I would love for it to be Gronholm in at Marklund! Pleased to see him in the Lites this weekend but he had promised the wife after X Games never to race competitively again.......maybe Jost made him an offer than he couldn't refuse and that Jamie couldn't match.

I dream I know but I remember fondly happier timers!

I don't know about 2014, but he was supposedly offered a free seat with Monster for 2015:

ERC24.com - Full WRX For Solberg?

I do wonder if maybe his seat was free/cheap in 2014 as he was filling in for Liam?

I daresay Henning isn't as fast as Petter (nor is he as likeable a personality), but to be fair to him he did have some moments of pace in 2014, plus he's not really had the most competitive cars to gauge his performance.

The return of Gronholm would be incredible! With Petter driving and rumours of appearances by Loeb, it would be like a WRC Champions reunion!

Forgive the double post, this just popped up in my Inbox:

German team ALL-INKL.COM Muennich Motorsport will compete in all 12 rounds of this year’s FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy with two self-developed Audi S3 RX Supercars. The team, which is owned by renowned World Touring Car driver Rene Muennich, will use 2015 as a development year in a bid to fight for the World RX Teams’ Championship title in 2016.

Muennich made his long-awaited debut in the Audi S3 RX Supercar at last year’s World RX of Germany but since then the Saxony-based team has made a number of changes based on its performance both in Estering and in Franciacorta. It is still to be confirmed who will drive for the team but several drivers are expected to test the Audi S3 over the next few weeks.

“World RX will be our main programme this year,” confirmed team owner Muennich. “We will use this year to learn and then we want to fight for the title in 2016. We are pleased about the development of rallycross as a sport and the fact that we can develop our own car is what makes this Championship so special. Even without a strong result in Germany, we saw that our car is fast enough to score a top ten placing and it was interesting to see how the requirements for the cars change as a result of some of the circuits. The top speed on the World RX tracks is high and the grip is much better so we need to adapt the car accordingly.”

Muennich continued: “We have a different engine in the car since Estering as well as a new gearbox, new differentials and brakes. We also changed the geometry of the rear axle and have a new weight balance. It’s basically a completely new car. Our team has grown to more than 20 people and we will have more engineers and mechanics this year to help with the development of the cars. The line-up of competitors such as [Petter] Solberg will make this year very challenging for us but we’re very excited to be competing in World RX full-time and can’t wait to get started.”

Muennich Motorsport is the second all-new World Championship team to confirm its participation in this year’s World RX. The season kicks off with World RX of Portugal at the end of April.

I assume that none of these are confirmed yet. Also didn't Flaherty say that he was looking at doing Euro RX rounds as well as the British championship? Timerzyanov needs to fit into a car somewhere (back at Hansen?), Faren?, Ohman?, Bakkerud, Nittiss, Jeanney, Grosset-Janin, what's Hedstrom up to? Linnerud, Walfridsson?

Lots of names and news to come! I guess a lot of people are still chasing budgets.

Both Omse drivers are in two year deals so probably no change there I wouldn't expect 3 ldm cars this year and be prepared for a big surprise at psrx!

Walfridson will do the Euro RX I believe. The other Clio I am not sure of what might happen.

Jeanney tweeted this yesterday: "Working hard for 2015..."
