TV NASCAR TV coverage in the UK - Page 4

Because i'm on telewest (cable ) not sky all the 2006 chase races were put on rangers tv , and telewest didnt have the rights to broadcast that channel on weekends so i was stuffed during the end of 2006.

Sent about 50 e mails to nasn and had the same results as you guys.

Tha gatorade dule races arnt in the tv listings , nor is the daytona 500 well ****** off now any one had a better up date??

was going to cancel nasn and get sky put in but reading some of your comments nascar busch isnt being shown aswell

With all the extra channels you have to get i.e setanta sports, rangers crap tv , celtic crap tv, and the hosre boaring boaring racing you would think they would put it on there.

I've read on another forum that during C5's highlights show they were running a message along the bottom of the screen saying that they will be covering the whole of the Daytona 500 on Sunday 18th! Anyone got anything to add to that???

Almost certainly yes. If they sent out an e-mail saying they were not expecting to show NASCAR this year but would you like to watch some baseball instead, then they might get a slightly negative reaction - so you get the sanitised marketing drivel instead.

how can you fit a 3 hour (ish) race into a 50 minute highlights show.

got my tvu player working for the bud shootout last weekend

laid on the sofa with my laptop on wireless, the picture quality was very good and all round it was great

i'll be looking forward to watching the race

Who noticed the scrolling advertisment during channel 5's coverage of the bud shootout in the early hours of this morning advertising the fact channel 5 was showing the whole of the Daytona 500 on Sunday? It didn't mention live or anything but it definitely said 'whole race'

I can't find any info on the sky plus forward planner or channel 5's website. Anyone heard anything?

I dont know why , ( probally because im having a dense moment ) but i cant get anything on my TVU player.....i have no channels or anything , just the basic player which is blank ?... am i missing something obvious here , or am i being a real thicko ? ( dont answer that Knowlesy ! )

You could have done what I did and downloaded the wrong one. At first I had a screen with no channels.

I think when you download it gives two choices so go for "the other one!"

I didn't catch the Channel 5 coverage, but was it not a FOX advertisement you saw?

As people have said, 5 are supposedly showing delayed coverage of the event in the early hours of Monday morning.

It is referring to delayed coverage though, rather than live I imagine.

Errrr yes......but it's Five's caption.

Agreed with you Knowlesy - I can't believe for a second it would be live coverage. Much more likely a complete re-run in the old baseball graveyard shift slot.

Five has now updated it's site's TV guide and it is indeed showing a delayed 3 hours version of the race on Monday morning at 0010 hrs.

I guess I'll be trying the TVU player / NASCAR Race View Site for the live stuff and then recording Five to watch later.

Better than nothing but let's face it this has been a shambles from NASCAR and from NASN. They should both be ashamed.
