Truth will come out end of season!
I hope Alonso exposes all the details of his experience at Mclaren. He deserves much better, Mclaren is a team based on internal politics and favoritsm. You can deny it till your blue in the face, but the harsh reality is under all that corporate talk and equality BS, Mclaren favour Ham and Im sure they have slowed Alonsos car down. If so Alonso should not hold back and ask the FIA to investigate the claim if there is any validity in it. |

Nice to see that the Hamilton bandwagon is now nice and completely out of control with some of the comments in this thread. Which are completely ludicrous...

"I think so, I think (Hamilton) deserves it if he wins it in the end. I think you have to know how to win and how to lose, and if I don't win this year it's because someone has scored more points than me, and if that's the case it's because he has done a better job."

The post qualifying report today that Alonso stormed through the garages and bust a door of the Hospitality suite as his tantrum continued speaks realms.
Having met and worked with both Ron and Lewis in the past and having met Fernando and most of the drivers in F1 over the past 20 + years and knowing the people who work with Alonso at present you may get a tale form Fernanando in the future, but the people at McLaren and other teams are true professionals who will never speak in public. Observations at tests and race days shows the real pro at McLaren and why Fernando is unlikely to be flavour of the month. (ps. For E46, your comment is rather belittling to the people I mentioned as you seem to assume that they did not hold responsible or senior positions, That was not the case. My old friend Johan Devilldeprat is also one of many Spaniards who've dedicated their working life to F1 teams in Britain and helped get the sport where it is today.) |

A few here should note.
Even the people who sweep the floor and make tea at McLarens get treated fair and equally. McLaren are a team that has a history of retaining staff, and staff who have treated Mclaren unfairly in the past have still been treated fairly despite the errors they made. To suggest that a McLaren driver does not get treated faily or equaly is laughable and naieve. |

An observation:
In my opinion, Mclaren's "reputation" in human resources and management is good, no doubt, but often over-rated. Make no mistakes, Ron Dennis is one person who is fantastic in managing things right down to the smallest details. In fact, his obsession with perfection is similar to Bernie, who is said to want even the motorhomes to be parked inch perfect because it'd look good on TV from the air. However, Ron Dennis is very much a you-like-him or you-don't in a personal sense. Those who share his views on things will very much love working with him, just look at those senior management that works beside Ron. And that is a respectable thing What Ron isn't as good at though is working with people who thinks differently, and these people are plenty, because Ron works with a very specific and unique mentality. People say his driver management skills are good, but if we look at the past 20 years, the track record isn't fantastic in this department. Only Mika seem to really get on with Ron. JPM had issues with Ron, Kimi said Ron's a control freak, and Aryton vs Prost and Alonso vs Hamilton have never been kept in control as Ron would like it. Adrian Newey had wanted to leave since 2002, and there are some good engineers and designers who went to Mclaren with expectations, but leaving soon after. However, in this context, Alonso's comments are not accurate either. I have no doubt that Alonso and Hamilton have equal opportunities and equipment, courtesy of Ron Dennis. Alonso has a high degree of paranoia historically against teammates, and he expected not an equal, but a better-than-his-teammate kind of treatment. However, Ron Dennis share a friendship with Hamilton's family, and it is hard for Alonso to break into this, thus furthering his discomfort. |

as an ex employee. I can truthly say (at least in my time), that you hit the nail on the head. McLaren lost out on certain drivers because of the No number 1 rule and McLaren have always ensured there is equal treatment, unless only one driver can win the championship (and that was a good few years ago - Mike and DC) Thats what makes it so frustrating to read. I'm still in touch with a few and I know the team, at least engineering and mechanics still treat Lewis and Fred as equals. In fact, I think McLaren deserve credit for still backing Alonso in a way, he's continues to use the (Spanish) press (if everything is true) to slag off the team and their actions, when in reality, a rookie has beaten in. OK Lewis, had it handed to him on a plate, but he still had to drive the car A Sorry state of affairs really....and all this from someone who a year ago, though his dream team now existed...Alonso and McLaren - whoops! |

Goes to prove once more that McLaren are right in giving both their drivers every opportunity to race for the win. If they'd put all their weight behind one driver then where would they be now?

how very true Craig!
btw, on TSN (Canada), Gerald Donaldosn said he'd heard from a McL insider that Ron will continue to pay Alonso next year but not race him, or allow him at another team. - Cant really believe that would happen, but though I'd mention it. |

its all down to how its worded. I've seen a contact or two (not F1 level of course) where there is no gaurantee to race as such...team decision and all that.
Still, dont think it would happen in a million years, but though it was an interesting RUMOUR to post - should keep this thread going for another 10 pages, dont you think LOL! |

No, he's on about Johan Devilledeprat, the tea boy he knows so well from the Jordan days. You must have heard of him?

I fail to see how RD could race FA next year if what we are being told is correct.
Whilst RD has experience of in-fighting between drivers, what it appears he has now is one driver who doesn't communicate within the team, publicly criticises the team and publicly accuses the team and "his" mechanics of sabotaging his car and acting against him. I just can't see how you can effectively manage that scenario, keep moral in the team and move both of your drivers forward. |

The Speed TV commentators reported that the rumour they heard was that if Lewis clinched in China, then FA would be out of the car for Brazil. Obviously that did not happen (Lewis clinching the title) but it was an interesting comment.
