On the face of it the 'damage" has been done.
Even if BAR win their case, the atmosphere would be very hard to bare. True JB is a F1 driver and would try his level best no matter what machine was under him, yet there must be a strong adverse effect. If he's not happy if he does stay at BAR, its not exactly a recipe for continued success. Cheers Peter Last edited by Lotusonpole; 11 Aug 2004 at 09:00. |

Jenson has a good relationship with Frank - he genuinely wants to drive for Williams.
This is not some ploy to screw more money out of BAR. |

Well, the story is continues. According to reports BAR have enlisted the help of top sports lawyer Mark Gay as well as Gavin Kealey QC as they prepare to battle Williams over who has the rights to Jenson Button's services in 2005.

I would be really surprised if BAR have the intention of winning Button back to drive for them. The damage is done. The relationship and trust is broken between Button and the team.
All BAR is seeking is to win the case and come out as the "rightful" employer of Button. It's not a proud thing to have your star driver just snatched from under your nose. BAR would want to win the case, then work out another package where they sell their driver to Williams. Button and BAR has been a fairytale so far...it's sad it turned sour. |

Give us a pole please Jenson, just to add a bit of spice. You'd have to be mad to swap him out of the car, considering the career-best form that he is in - I doubt that anyone could do as good as job as him in that car at the moment.
