Yes that paint scheme looks horrid, however if it remains as an open car it gets the thumbs up from me, probably will not happen but would be nice

Would be unique though. Sometime this month the real LMH will be testing in private. I wonder if any spies will catch it or if Toyota will do some teasers. It's introduction to the public will be January 11th.

Depends which Darth you mean, there were several. All will be revealed soon, exciting times ahead thanks to Toyota and their great cars

It is interesting that they drove around the street version at Le Mans, so the general shape of the car isn't really a secret. Are they actually trying to prevent people from seeing something on the race version? or do they just want to wait until the January date for the reveal?

I don't know if the test car seen at LM is anywhere close to the LMH. Too small for one and too early for the real race car. I miss the spy shots, maybe a local will get brave and take a camera to Pauk Ricard soon.

So there'll be not one but three grandfathered LMP1 cars on the grid.

Looks like a 2000mm wide TS050 to me. Even the shots of the monocoque under the tarp shows that it'll use a similar tub to the TS050. Will probably also be called the TS060 officially for all we know.
So probably more of a Hyper-DPI than a "Hypercar", which, granted, the rules basically allow. |

From the limited views it looks very similar to an LMP1 car. You lot gotta stop falling for the ACO grift.

I guess they didn’t want a complete change from the LMPs. I am sure the new formula will work fine

Id rather lmp1s in look than somewhat guised up dpis. Go full or stay a prototype imo.

Granted, going back to the 2000mm wide cars will probably automatically make them look better IMO.

Agree on that. Its kinda weird to see GTE so wide at 2050mm+ vs lmp at 1900mm

Due to smaller overall dimensions LMP3 cars are automatically better proportioned with very similar cockpit dimensions. |

On a related note, are they required to be 2000mm wide or is that max width? Because if aero efficiency is capped anyway, why would Toyota want to alter the TS050 chassis that they're clearly using? Other than the token nose job, of course.

Max. Actually there no minimum dimensions for either width or length (in latest published regs from which are still from Dec 2019).

Pretty sure its a brand new chassis and car. I thought that they confirmed it before and recall they said the TS050 is near maxed out. I also think the new lmh's are slightly taller.

I don't know why they changed it for the last race, unless they wanted to take no chances in that regard. But it's a shame to see the TS050 for the last time. But hey it's time to move on and hopefully the next car they produce will keep this sportscar racing alive for now. Can't wait to see how Le Mans turns out next year
