Not really. If you want to check at what I posted in the week after the race I was pretty complementary of the job V8SA did at the 12 Hour this year.I know it is hard for 3 of the people on this forum to believe they are not all knowing and infallible(see fuel dump rules) but none of us are.

You really think different support classes are going to effect how many spectators turn up on the Saturday?
How did the standalone DVS events go at drawing spectators in the past? Will the DVS teams be expected to pay the same sort of entry fee's that the Radicals or Improved Production currently do? That will have an impact on $$ return |

I'd invite the NZV8s. 250km enduro with V8 Supercar co-drivers. But that's just me.

But I did think, if they did a DVS enduro where each team had a main game co-driver, that would get the fans in? |

A big field of sport sedans would be good.
Formula Ford were also pretty good to watch in 2015. Oz boss is that still around? Throw everything open wheel in from Formula Holden, F3, F4, Formula Ford etc |

I'd like to see sports sedans, but that's for purely selfish reasons, I just like big, loud, fast cars

Any of these would be good fun to watch but would they add much to the crowd?Look at the crowds at Shannon's Nationals rounds to get an answer for some.Cast your mind back to stand alone Development Series meetings for the others.Even TCM which is very popular for a support category(see Speedcafe poll on Clipsal supports) have not increased Shannon's crowds by more than a few hundred when they have appeared at those meetings. If the 12 hour isn't going to get people attending Bathurst support categories surely won't.

TCM and Sports sedans would keep me at the fence with camera in hand instead of wandering around. I didn't watch any of the Radicals, and only a small portion of IPRA and Combined Sedans (or whatever they were). |

I don't see a DVS support race with main series co-drivers doing much for the gate. Various series have tried this (Carrera Cup for example) approach to their enduro's, and the appearance of V8SC drivers hasn't moved the needle much.
I don't see V8 drivers co-driving with comparative nobodies on a Saturday afternoon in a 'support race' attracting people who weren't already going to go anyway. If it is true that V8SC weren't happy with the roll-up in 2016, then i think they've severely misjudged their investment in the race. This race has been building at an steady rate since 2011, and did again in 2016, and will probably again in 2017...were they expecting an explosion of popularity in 2016 just because their name was attached to it?? It doesn't work like that.... Quote:
Combined Sedans was basically a Sports Sedan field |

I'd like to see a classic sportscar race similar to how they do before LeMans. Have different classes based on era. I know it's far fetched but it would be nice. I saw the flame spitting Porsche 935 and a rare Porsche 911 GT1 doing laps there a few years ago.

That would be a perfect scenario if they can attract the historic sport scars. Tasman Revival esque would be ideal

V8 Supercars plans week-long festival for Bathurst 12 Hour
This is an old article (month old) but the key comment is that a 20K audience is targeted for the 12 hour with in a few years this article suggests a week long festival, but i guess that is one of quite a few possible options Quote:
