I guess if you have to you have to.
All BEV's have a portion of battery capacity not used initially and it becomes available as the battery loses range.

Supercars has a huge problem in that for the last generation over 20 years, they hung their shingle and built their whole reason to exist on a contest between the most popular car brands in australia

a brand that no longer exists and a brand that no longer builds here. And they now have a fictional car that never existed (rear drive v8 zb) from a company that no longer exists, vs a "sort of like" american car. The boys and girls who (like me) watched cars like dads racing the other brand became life long fans. but dad turned away over a decade ago, and not enough dads own a zb or mustang to support a fanbase, the most popular cars in aust are japanese utes and japanese and korean 4cyl fwd.

Millenials generally dont care how fast their car can be modified to go up and down a mountain, they care how green, how economical and how connected it is. IC engines are going the way of the crank handle.

And with streaming services, car racing fans have easy access to full coverage of all the European and american classes live or at a convenient times, where in the 70s and 80s atcc and spotty f1 coverage was all a petrol head could get. so we loved it

Supercars now has no reason to exist. They have totally lost its way and its reason to be more than a very expensive minority niche sport like yacht racing.

Very well summed up and right on point.

But if we perceive it that way then I guess we can easily say that most motorsport categories have no reason to exist nowadays. This is where motor industry is heading I'm afraid. Cars are no longer something exciting for masses - instead it's green technologies, modern gadgets and stuff. Looking at it this way we have maybe four motorsport categories/championships that have "reason" to exist - FE, F1 (although why both in future?), WEC/Le Mans, WRC.
