Toyota have gained 6 seconds by being incredibly lucky in traffic - they faced the GTE Am and Pros in the straights, while the Porsches lapped them in the twistier middle sector.
The Porsches aren't exactly running away from the Audis either. |

The radio between the 20 Porsche and the pit must be quite intense right now

I noticed that whenever the 14 builds a gap, the 20 runs it back down almost as fast. #20 is the faster of the two Porsches right now, and it not like they're running away from either the two Audis or Toyotas.
Team orders might come in play if the Porsche team manager decides to play that card, though we're not even an hour into this race. |

Buemi closing in on the lead cars, already on the same back straight with them.

#8 on another planet in terms of pace. Slow old Wurz is lapping the same as the lead group, not gaining much at all.

According to T&S, #8 Toyota made two stops, I assume under the yellow. I know that one was fuel and tires, but what about the other?

The Audis look like they are not even in the same class with the Toyota

I'd say it's the driver--Wurz has been stuck running Audi/Porsche pace most of this race so far.

That was a disgustingly awful pitstop from the #20.

I'd say it's a bit of both. Lapierre was running mostly #7 type pace and Nakajima isn't that far off Buemi/Davidson.

Only time the #7 I feel was up to snuff compared to the #8 was Le Mans, and we all know what happened there.
As long as they don't DNF in the following two races, Ant and Seb are basically a lock for the drivers' title. Manufacturers' title is much closer because of the performance discrepancy between the #7 and #8. Audi and even Porsche seem to have a much more balanced team paring, so you do have to wonder if it's driver, car or both between the two Toyotas. |

Ironically, if the #8 wasn't out there, this would be one helluva race right now for endurance racing standards.

Down to the #14 to save us from a Toyota 1-2 now.
