The eligibility list on the Peter Auto "version" of this period is interesting
https://peterauto.peter.fr/en/grids/...ing-legends-2/ Eligible cars: Sebring 12 Hours (1994-2010), Daytona 24 Hours (1994-2010), Le Mans 24 Hours (1994-2010), American Le Mans Series (1999-2010), BPR (1994-1996), FIA GT (1997-2009), FIA Sportscar Championship (2001-2003), IMSA (WSC 1993-1998), International Sports Racing Series (1997-2000), Le Mans Endurance Series (2001-2005), Le Mans Series (2006-2010). Exceptions (ineligible cars): LM P1 and LM P2 after 2005, GT3, Ferrari Challenge, Porsche Supercup & Carrera Cup, Daytona GTD, Daytona Prototypes. There will be an invitation class for non-eligible cars in the races I just wish I could watch these |

Sweet, they needed something to boost the Fall Historics race. The Mitty is huge and the paddock space is maxed out but the fall race is mostly locals. Good to see new stuff and some great cars.

Also for those interested in the USA series, the Masters GP guys also are running those weekends with mostly DFV F1 cars, 66-85 3L cars.

Euro 2020 draft regs
https://www.mastershistoricracing.co...L%20DRAFT.pdf/ USA 2020 final regs https://www.mastershistoricracing.co...s%20FINAL.pdf/ As discussed before, while not particularly ground breaking there are some not so welcoming changes made to European series, which make me prefer the USA version now. And this is weird: 4.3.7 "Daytona Prototypes will be classified in the appropriate LMP2 class." |

Well they were balanced, ok vaguely balanced-ish, to the P2s after the merger so that seems fair to get more cars in a class and give a guy a place to race. I would guess most people have the later DP chassis with the diffusers over early models. There are more than a few running in HSR and are all Vette types

They're running a couple overlapping events. Thankfully one is my local track this fall, no, I'm not at all counting the days and camping for it. Usually a day trip but this year HSR, Masters Endurance and Masters GP in one weekend.

The bit about DPs, that was on the European regulations front

Yes, all they’ve done is add US eligible DPs to the eligibility list for Europe. Makes total sense and no doubt at the request of owners who may be considering an event or two this side of the pond.....

It never happened IIRC, but during Britcar's heyday in the early '10s there was a plan to bring DPs over (Nobody said Tucker wasn't ambitious )
So maybe there are a couple that ended up in Europe in anticipation of this? |

And some Gt500 cars from Super GT also. An NSX and a Z from memory but they never showed. |

There’s always been rumours of cars from other countries’ series coming over. Problem is each country has it’s own rules

For obvious reasons, the season's been kind of clunky with million cancellations, including the latest one at WEC Spa they had announced just few weeks ago. However they have managed to pull off one event so far, at Donington last month. And while it was a sorry micro grid of 8 cars (including the previously mentioned weirdo "GT2" Corvette with GT1 sticker in it & random old Cup Porsche), there were two SMP LMP2s! Just a crying shame that mere 5 year old cars are here, obsolete from ACO racing while other spec cars get million year renewals, but anyway good to have at least a place for them in historics. These cars belong to the track, not collecting dust somewhere. We've seen enough of Group C historics for a lifetime, but not these
Catch SMP at 1:20 for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rMfHtbwdEQ They also won overall R1 from Lola B12/60 Judd LMP1, and came second and third to that Lola in R2 http://www.mastershistoricracing.com...esults-284.pdf Last edited by Deleted; 16 Aug 2020 at 22:21. |

The grids on Peter Auto's ERL are pretty stellar though
https://peterauto.peter.fr/wp-conten...-erl-entry.pdf http://peterautoracing.alkamelsystem...1%20+%20Q2.PDF Nice Lola EX257 onboard from the said HTTT event, in the absence of other material https://youtu.be/A81NZO8ZtJI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTxW5caGPlQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jhv69--62E The ex ACEMCO Saleen Last edited by Deleted; 18 Aug 2020 at 00:19. |

They're supposed to be with the US based HSR in October at Road Atlanta. I'm going to go WAY out on the limb to guess no, sadly they aren't. The lineups look great.

I was at Paul Ricard during the Dix Mille Tours of Peter Auto, it was so cool to see this cars racing again. But i'm feeling old now, it was my first time "historic" cars racing which I also saw racing when they were modern

Nice, don't think either of those will ever make the trip sadly. The Panoz guys should since they'll be back "home"
The weirdest was watching the Whelen Corvette DP run at Petit in October '16 and then appear in HSR at The Mitty in April '17. Or the LMPC cars running at Petit AND HSR the same years. But that's HSR, run what ya have and we'll figure it out. |
