You have a point, but it's still reasonable to worry that the full-season entries won't come. Slightly different context, but have a look back to the 2005 and 2006 seasons of Italian Superturismo when they briefly ran S2000 regulations.

It was easy enough finding entries for the first 3 rounds where they ran within the WTCC races. Once they had moved on to the 'Italian-only' rounds, the entries slowly dwindled, particularly when a driver fell out of title contention as there just wasn't enough of an incentive to justify the expense.

So far I find this scenario unlikely.

I disagree in turn. If the local entrants are at a lower level -- teams and drivers, mainly the drivers though -- than they are at a lower level. No shame in that. The point of the class is the cars are the same after all (at least the common ones like the Audi RS3, if not the rare ones like the Lynk & Co).

This is why I was in favour of WRC adopting "pure" Super 2000 regulations back when that was thing, so that privateers (both national and international) were all in the same class as the works teams and could potentially (if not realistically) challenge the world-level works teams for outright rally victory, as well in favour of Le Mans/WEC adopting the old open-formula LMP2 as a single top class with everyone in the same class!

I can't imagine that would be acceptable, especially with the (high) likelihood that the Michelins used by say TCR Australia would be superior to the Kumhos used by the TCR World Tour!

(Unless I underestimate Kumho, but they can't even compete with domestic rival Hankook who have just about made that step to tier-one status when Kumho haven't been able to, let alone rival global tier-one brands, no?)

I'd say one improvement over WTCR is that they are combing events with other TCR championship events, either continental or national. So at least you will have some local interest

I would say Yvan Muller, Yann Ehrlacher, Santiago Urrutia and Ma Qing Hua.
In the last couple of years Thed Björk was the weakest Lynk & Co driver.

Not sure Cyan will 'lose' Thed. I also think that Muller and Ehrlacher are out of contract currently...

TCR World Tour to race at Vallelunga:
https://tcr-worldranking.com/news/it...ts-third-event

Up to 18 TCR Italy regulars will join the event, although it seems it won't count into TCR Italy championship

Article in today's Autosport about Restart Racing in TCR UK. An interesting quote from Burt Taylor, asked about the going back to BTCC - "I wouldn’t say never, but the plan is now we’ve done a deal with Scott and Chris, and we want to do TCR UK, and go round the world, race in Europe, Asia, Australia…"

Could we see Chris Smiley doing some World Tour rounds this year?

That's a bit worrying. Top search results on Google point to mytvchain.io, which is a site selling NFTs. The broadcast platform is mytvchain.com, which makes lots of references in their T&Cs to blockchain token sales.

Yeah, definitely not the most popular platform to say the least.
Though it seems they will develop a special platform, which will just replace the current TCR TV which is really outdated and needs revisions.

Hopefully, at least it will make broadcasts of different TCR races accessible.
