Not a bad guess was it with 61 as we speak.

Of course you have Mr Walsh. First come, first served though, as there are rather a lot of you. Some may have to squeeze 3 in though.

There's no need to squeeze. Even with 60 cars, there is enough room in the garages. You can get 3 in each garage with ease.

Problem with the first come basis is that you are penalised if you don't test.

On the subject of garages, with the impending Moose Trophy Races, it would be nice if we could use the garages for there intended purpose. ie. Rather than always driving out of the back of them, we could come down the pit lane and form up on the grid, then get a full green flag lap. At least if they did it for the final. How cool would that be.

I remember when they used to do that at Oulton. Seeing the pit crews on the grid with the cars before the start of a race. It seemed to build up the excitement all that bit more. All the cars starting up together with the grid being cleared and the cars going off on a formation lap.

It also wastes quite a lot of time, though.

Perhaps the drivers could be advised to carry out the green flag lap at a slightly quicker pace this meeting? It took an absurdly long time at the last Oulton meeting.

I know it takes longer, but for a special event such as this, it would be a nice touch to use the Pit Lane.

The formation lap at the last Anglesey round was worse. We all ground to a dead stop on several occasions, especially on the back straight and several drivers had to take avoiding action. I don't know if people were making practice starts or not, but I agree with you there Ian. The formation laps are getting longer and longer.

I thought the formation lap was to warm things up hence the need for a bit more speed..I've been at the very front and no matter how fast you go the mid fielders slow it all down..When I was at the back at the last Oulton race I don't think I did over 30mph and had to stop a couple of times!

I was in 9th on the grid mate and it was no better in front. I had to avoid a couple of locked up cars.

But yeah. I thought the warm up lap was exactly that. You gun it around getting the tyres hot and some heat into the brakes. I think there is a tendancy at the moment to let the pole sitter clear off and the rest of the field is bunched up, hence the pole sitter getting cold on the grid.

As Johnny L about the last round at Oulton when he was released onto the circuit while the rest of us were held in the pit lane.

I'd love to use my own but I'm trying to sort a few things out properly so its simpley not ready to go at this moment. I could probably get it out now and it would be "ok" but I need to sort the issues out I had last year

Its not the end of the world, as always its a last minute thing as threads like this sound tantalising and when you've not been out for a while it gets a little painful reading so you start prodding around for the chance of a fun race, just fancied trying Oulton as I've tried to get down there before, but it looks like there is a good grid anyway, and the people I've asked about cars have been really good and helpful even when they couldn't help so I'm not going to pressure people to get cars ready for a fun race.

Quick one for you darcym.

Have you tried Bernard Baxter. He has a championship winning RF90 sat there and as far as I am aware. It's ready to go. I know he is after selling it, but I don't think it has gone yet.....

Worth a call to see maybe?
