oh yeah. we have 2 reserved spots. We've been trying to acquire a 3rd that's next to the 2 we have. For the last 2 years, no one has shown up to use it, but it keeps getting paid for every year. I'm thinking we'll have to slip Abe an envelope so he will put us in touch with the people to see if we can buy their spot

Where are your spots? Mine is 608 located between turn 5 and turn 6 on the asphalt section of the parking area facing the track just before turn 6. Had the same spot for over two decades. Wow! that seems like such a long time now.

The red box is where the RV spots are. The blue blob is where we setup the ez-up village for track viewing.

Friday night is Bourbon tasting and brisket. We usually smoke about 25 lbs of brisket. Price of admission is just to bring a bottle to share with everyone.

Not going that small, plus the AC is broke in the Accord right now. I'll be bringing the 3 instead. but it will be tight (phrasing boom)

Instead of bourbon is a 12 pack of Heineken ok? I'm a wimp and don't drink hard liquor much anymore

Now starting my systems check list. Testing everything long before we need it to give us time for any repairs as needed. Don't need any surprises.

Burbon night huh? Might have to have the wife and I stop on by for a sample. I'll see if we have any good stash to bring.

Lets all wish for good weather.

I am sorry if I assumed, but is the smoked brisket and bourbon tasting open to the community? Don't want to infringe on anyone's private party.

Yes. It usually ends up being a pretty good sized crowd.

Well if anyone wants to come by I'll be doing a low country bill style seafood cookout race night. I'll most likely be down by the bathrooms at the end of the esses. All are welcome just bring yourself a beverage or two

Sounds very intriguing. Had friends from Louisianna that use to have Gumbo night. Everyone brought their contribution and we all feasted on the delights.

Maybe we should create a TenTenths flag to mark party spots and members camps.

Trying to find a seller for custom flags at a reasonable price. The one I showed costs $43.82 each with free shipping.

That's for a polyester cloth double sided 2' x 3' flag with two mounting grommets. Not a bad price for a custom flag but still looking for options.

I may order one just to see the quality.

Looking for suggestions on which Bourbon to bring?

Straight Bourbon? Kentucky Rye? Direct from barrel or 90 proof? I am open to suggestions but try to keep it under $100 a bottle.

I actually think I like the checkered flag background a bit more than the blue.

You don't have to spend anywhere near $100 to get a quality product. Here are some suggestions (in no particular order)

Michter's Straight Bourbon or American Whiskey
Any Old Forester special edition with a year in the title
Russells Reserve 10 yr
Eagle Rare
Wild Turkey Rare Breed
Anything single barrel is fun and Jim Beam has one for under $30 that is usually good.

That list will get me started.

Checkered flag ordered. Will be nice to see how they turn out.

That would be the way to go. Oddly enough I myself did gumbo in 21, but after having to stir my roux for a couple hours at my site I decided simpler might be the way to go.
