Well, despite being a Brock fan myself, I'm glad you didn't put Longhurst in that group you mentioned there :P
....or Thecko.....hahaha! |

I suppose it's up to how you define "Best"
Best natural talent - Brock Best current natural ability - Lowndes Best in car preparation, and professionalism - Moffat Best privateer - Johnson Best at keeping the factory team on it's toes - Grice Best engineering and knowing the car - Perkins Best in versatility - Jum Best impersonation of a teenage tearaway by a geriatric aged driver - the late, great Denny Hulme. |

This is for all you Ford Fans out there:
Always thought that Moffat was far better than Johnson as a driver. Forget sponsorship, money etc. To me, Moffat was always far smoother, hit apexes consistenly and was far nicer on a car. Was it just me? |

And people just shook their heads, bit their lips and wondered who would be second". RIP Peter Brock. 1945-2006 |

IMHO got to be Brock, no contest. The record books tell the story. Also he was a genius and regular winner in Rally, and open wheelers. He could easily have been a formula 1 world champion if he had taken the risk.

His Mustang he only raced for a season and a half, and was a 289 (4.7 litre). My vote goes to Black Pete. His 2 Mustangs were the most successful Touring Cars in Australia ever, and anyone who can take their Mustang around the outside of a big Chevy Nova at McPhillamy Park, to take the lead in an ATCC title race has a huge claim. |
