Nakajima is being extracted from the Toyota according to Twitter.

*Depending on how long/controversial the fight is, there may only be 40 minutes difference between the boxing and the SGT race. Edit - Didn't I pick a good time to join in on the thread. I hope the extraction of Nakajima is not a sign of bad news on his part. From the tweets it looks like the #8 didn't sustain major damage, but has there been any word on Jarvis yet? |

Somewhat of a heavy impact looking at the front of the Toyota.

I hope ByKolles have got some spares. Trummer has reportedly crashed out there and limping back to the pits.

Finally watching the ELMS Silverstone round--in full HD, class act by ELMS.
What a race. After the amazing (seriously possibly the best endurance race I have ever seen) WEC round and now this ... I am practically drooling for the Spa race. |

A few shots taken at the scene of the incident:
(source: @LaurauxMatthieu / Automoto.fr / TF1) The damage to the Audi is said to be "substantial". I guess we won't see it run during FP2. Good thing is that Kazuki is apparently fine. |

Toyota #1 is replacing the tub but won't be ready for FP2.

I'd have to say that nothing was learned in this session, since it's not supposed to rain. The times were slow and most teams only turned a handful of laps. The times of the Audis and the #2 Toyota showed that they weren't pushing knowing that what they find out in FP1 won't translate to race day.
Hopefully FP2 will by dry so some representative times can be laid down. |

You can see the F1 focus on Autosport headlines: Lieb leads wet practice for Porsche, Hulkenberg fourth...
IDK what we can take of FP1 given the weather and all, but glad nothing serious came out of that clash involving Nakajima. Well other than Audi needs quick fix if the damage is as described... Very disappointed by the lack of RLM coverage, the least amount of Spa 6h/1000KM coverage since they started covering LMS I believe...? Is this how it's now going to be for all non-LM/Silverstone(/CotA) WEC events now, or just this since Laguna is conflicting? Even though in the past they have had simulcast second radio service, like for LMS Hungaroring / ALMS Mosport and LMS Imola / Nurburgring 24h, so... ... they started gradually scaling back ELMS to just race broadcast a while ago, maybe now for WEC too. At least there's Q on stream |

Hard to tell who came off better in that accident.
#8 Audi for sure will at least need the right rear corner replaced. And reportedly the damage to the #1 Toyota is so bad that they're replacing the tub on that car. The Toyota won't run in FP2 due to replacing the tub, and the #8 Audi may be questionable as far as running in FP2 depending on how long repairs take. |

We've got some more pictures here.
http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Oliv...ail/story.html You can get a good view of how messed up the right rear of the #8 Audi is. Glad no one was seriously injured but looks like both cars are going to miss significant track time. Anyone know what the forecast is for this afternoon - is the track likely to be much drier? Something tells me that if the track stays wet, most of the LMP1 teams won't go out at all probably. Only the #7 and #9 Audi have been out so far.
EDIT: Both Audis have had enough after 5 laps. |

FYI, it seems that only FP3 and maybe qualifying will be in the dry.

If the race is wet then I don't expect Audi to do well at all. High downforce spec cars will be the way to go.
