Ferrari is planning on to have at least 1 pro 296 for Daytona and hopes to have at least 5 cars on the grid.

Risi is planning for Ferrari to pay them to run at least 1 pro car, but if not they hope 5 customers will hire them to run the car for them.

I think Risi has a good chance at Daytona with first big race and knock the testing dust off and likely use a collector's car to be the FIRST with racing pedigree and immediately be vacuum sealed in a garage. Beyond Daytona for Pro, well.......

Good news, IMSA is trying their best to follow SRO in to disinterest in GT racing, but dipping a toe in.
GTD rules will change to allow a Bronze driver to change tires without penalty if they qualify and start the car. And any driver can now qualify the car to earn starting position and points Bronze driver(s) will get special recognition at every race, think this year we have one only? And because of MASSIVE fan support, the Sprint Cup returns for 2023. I know the rest of you tracked Paul Miller Racing winning it this year as well. |

Sounds like GTD Pro might be dropped sooner than expected, 2024 comes to mind so the few remaining all Pro driver entries can conveniently morph into GTP.

To add to the 23 reg updates, Bronze drivers now also only have to drive 35 minutes. That seems like a small change from 45 min minimum but there have been more than a few times that 10 min reduction would have been perfect timing for pitting and putting the quick shoe in.
Now do I think any of these changes will do much? Probably not, not many Bronze drivers out there banging around for IMSA racing it seems. But even if it adds a few drivers that's all improvement and everyone seems to think new Porsche and Ferrari will bring in drivers. |

This is all in reference to their customer cars. Which no one else has yet. So in no way can they be considered late to the table.
They set out an extremely ambitious plan and with global supply chain, freight, general chaos it might just prove too ambitious to hit initial timeframes. I imagine they're also thinking about any kind of major accident(s) and potentially leaving the works team short. |

BMW had the same problem last year with the Paul Miller M4. I'd guess anyone pursuing a 963 was made keenly aware of the timetable
Plus ANY customer care is ahead of all other GTP regs cars and all Hypercar. If we as fans can't wait, well that's on each one individually. |

Just makes next year a little... incomplete. I like the factory teams, but it's the privateers that adds significant entertainment factor. My guess is that, by next year's Petit Le Mans, we'll see more come on board. Just hate to see the independent teams not in their perspective rides at two of the most critical races of the year.

I guess I could look at it like: 2023 is a warmup/preview for the real season of 2024. Might be closer to a full field by next year's Petit though.

There's ZERO chance the cars won't all be ready by Long Beach, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sebring. But by LM break they'll all be in both fields.

By 2024 the series will be imploding and teams and manufacturers leaving. Leading up to that we’ll have had a dozen races in which the BoP was wrong.
